Preggo, pennies, and pastries!!! **FINAL UPDATES 4/25**

I just came on here after I was texting you about my professor being late. We're all still waiting for him :rolleyes1 I'd leave, but I missed this class last week. And I wouldn't have anywhere to go  I have to stay on campus for my afternoon class. So I'm stuck here, waiting for my professor...half hour late to an 80 minute class, for the second time in like two weeks  Oh well. It's not gonna bother me today, since this time tomorrow I'll be in Orlando :cool1:

I remember...way back when lol...when my professors used to be late or cancel class completely! We never knew ahead of time -- half the time when they cancelled they'd leave a note on the door. So you have to actually go to the class in order to find out! I hated it because since I commuted, I would sometimes make trips there just for one class only to have it cancelled!

They also had an "unofficial" rule that once a prof was more than 15 minutes late, we were allowed to leave. Well, we did that once & we were all in big trouble! :rolleyes1

Yayyyy! So excited for you!

I have totally been meaning to email you for like the past couple weeks...I keep losing track of time and remembering late, when I'm already in bed, and I don't want to text you late. :( I really don't have anything exciting happening, I just miss talking to you!

No problem at all! I miss talking to you too! I'll try to email you one day this week. I still haven't written back to your email from...umm...I think it was early December!!! :sad2:

Text me anytime! It's sweet of you that you don't want to bother me when I'm sleeping -- but I'm usually up! If I am sleeping, I usually shut my phone off or put it on vibrate. I've been staying up until at least 2am anyway & get up again at 5:30. I usually just stay up at 5:30 but sometimes fall back asleep until around 8 or so. I guess my sleeping schedule is crazy -- but like I said, I put my phone on vibrate so it won't bother me if I get a text!

A trip this year???? Yay! I know how happy that must make you! Fingers crossed for free dining!

Very exciting! :cool1:

Yay!!! Congrats on the new trip! I'm so excited for you. I'd love to see the Christmas decorations. Can't wait to hear all about your plans. :thumbsup2

:yay:Yay, how exciting! There is nothing like Christmas at Disney.

Hooray for another trip!!!!

Yay for a new trip! What dates are you planning? We're thinking of taking our little girl when she is about 6 months. :-)

Awesome!!!! Christmas at Disney is a very magical time (not that any other time isn't)

Yay for an upcoming trip! How exciting!:banana::banana:

Well you sneaky bugger.. I didn't know you had plans for this year now! How exciting!!!!!

Yay!!!! I will keep my fingers crossed for a FD extension! Now to go catch up the 98 billion subs I haven't read in a month...

Thanks everyone!!! I am super excited!!! I've known it was a possibility for awhile but I didn't say anything to anyone! I was afraid if I said something, it wouldn't happen & then I'd have to explain why it DIDN'T happen & I'd be super "Disney Depressed!" :rolleyes1

Somehow we managed to go from "No Trip" to "Maybe a Trip" to a TWO WEEK trip!!! Yes, you heard me correctly! Not only are we going for Christmas but we are (tentatively) going for 13 nights, 14 days! I'll post the ADR's that I want to try to get, a list of possible activities/events, things I don't want to miss out on this trip, etc. in another update!

You'll also be pleased to hear that I actually wrote an update for my September TR last night. It's 14 pages typed in Word...so I'll post a little here and there over the next week or two! The kids were up because of some storms going through & were scared, so we watched Dumbo about five bazillion times in a row while I wrote a trip update! I forgot that movie made me cry! Luke even hugged me when they took away Dumbo's mommy. He told me that he loves me & he loves our family being together :lovestruc :sad1: I guess Dumbo's mommy being locked up really made him sad! He's actually watching it again right now. A few nights ago when it stormed, we watched Ratatouille fifty bazillion times in a row! :lmao: It's sort of amusing & confusing at the same time how comforting Disney movies can be to him at home, but yet he's terrified of everything when we go on trips :confused3

I hope everyone had a good weekend!!! The weather here is supposed to be beautiful all week with scattered storms/rain a couple days early in the week. We'll probably spend a lot of time outside this week, but I'll make sure to post those updates!!! :thumbsup2

I know this is tentative, but what are your dates right now?? We don't have anything set in stone, but we are going back in 2013. We are hoping to go back in early January (around the same time we did this year)...so like right after New Years. Is there a chance you'd still be there at that time? I'd love to finally meet you in person!

Congrats on your upcoming trip!!! :cool1::goodvibes:thumbsup2

I still have to catch up here....:rolleyes1 :woohoo:

Meghan, this is probably world's WORST answer ever!!! :lmao:

But I honestly have absolutely no idea! :confused3

I know that really doesn't help, does it?! Right now we're looking at three options!

1) First two weeks of November
2) The week after Thanksgiving
3) The middle of December

I would say that chances are, we won't be there in January. BUT that's always subject to change between now & then! If my husband's work schedule changes in anyway or if a big job comes up in November, then we'd most likely move the trip further into December. And if we have to move it past the 2nd week, then yes, there's a slight chance we'd be there for the New Year & after! Our families would completely freak out if we weren't home for Christmas Day -- so if we needed to move the trip, we'd probably leave a few days after Christmas & then stay 2 weeks.

I need to go back & catch up on your report & check out the crowds during that time! :thumbsup2

I'll keep you posted via text if my dates change!!! I may not know until after summer, but I will definitely let you know before posting anything on here! I'd love to meet you in person too!! :thumbsup2

I've honestly sat & thought about how I can meet all of my friends at Disney -- but I think I'd have to either stay there for an entire year or visit for at least 2 weeks per month!!! :lmao:

Congrats on your upcoming trip!!! :cool1::goodvibes:thumbsup2

I still have to catch up here....:rolleyes1 :woohoo:

Thanks Cass!!! :thumbsup2

Take your time catching up! I have a few updates ready to go, but then it will probably be awhile (again...) before I post more!

I am thinking about splitting this too. Originally I was going to just do a PTR within my TR. But I have so many ideas for our next trip that I think I really want to just start a separate report for it. This two color PTR (in red) and TR (in blue) is going to get confusing to my readers! :lmao:

Concerning my current TR from September, I have written up another entire day & only have a couple more to go! Since I was able to type it into Word in a couple days & see an end in sight (LOL!), I have decided to split this & my PTR for the end of the year.

From now on, all future updates on this report will only be about my September trip! :thumbsup2

Please visit the following link for my PTR.

Mommy's Magical Memories

Right now, it's completely blank & boring! I have reserved an area for my Introduction, Table of Contents, and I'm going to also post helpful information on the first page. This will include listing links or additional information for different events I plan to do. For example, we want to attend MVMCP...so once dates are released, I will post them on the "Helpful Info" area! :thumbsup2 :santa:

So ever since I started my PTR, I’ve become more interested in my new trip than this old one! :lmao: That makes me feel bad, but I’m going to be honest with you!

Hopefully I can rush this along, after all I wanted to have it finished by the end of January and that did NOT happen! :confused3

Yes, I know you all understand how busy I’ve been & I so appreciate that! But I still feel bad because I wanted to have more done by now.

Oh well! Nothing I can do about it now, so let’s just move forward!

**********************************************************************

When I last left off, we had left Animal Kingdom after the parade was delayed & then cancelled. I was disappointed as it’s my absolute favorite parade!!! I love that its “different” from any other Disney parade. It has its own theming yet still incorporates the Disney touches & characters!

As we walked to the front of the park, it was sad to watch the CM’s taking down the ropes (the ones that tell the guests where to stand & where not to stand for parades). I probably sound over dramatic about the parades, but I really enjoy them & was sad to miss the DHS AND AK parades!

Since we had just learned the parade was cancelled, I’m guessing that we left AK somewhere around 3:45pm. I do remember the we waited F-O-R-E-V-E-R for a bus back to the Beach Club! We usually have good luck with buses – and I usually make sure to tell EVERYONE we have good luck with buses – but during the September trip, we had three slooooow buses!

1) The way back to the BC from DTD
2) The way back to BC from AK
3) On the way to MK pretty much every time we went there

I didn’t take notes and I don’t have any pictures, so I’ll try my best to remember the rest of the day. I think we went down to the front desk to see what movie was playing on the beach that evening. But because of the rain, they had decided to cancel that too. I remember being disappointed because it was a movie I knew Luke would really enjoy. After I came back upstairs from asking about the movie & doing a little shopping in the gift shop, my husband went down to the Marketplace to refill all of our mugs. He also bought some Doritos and a few snack items. I think we just stayed in the room for the rest of the night. I remember thinking it was ironic we were going to bed early because in the morning, we had the shortest walk to any ADR! We were eating breakfast at Cape May Cafe!

The next morning, we arrived at the podium a little early. There was a lady there asking about breakfast. She thought that she could just walk up & go right in to eat. If I remember correctly, she had quite a large party with her. I think about 10-12 people!

The CM was very polite the entire time & mentioned one opening for dinner that evening. The lady said she wanted breakfast, not dinner, and the earliest opening was the next week. She then proceeded to yell at the very nice CM – because you know, it was completely HIS fault that she couldn’t get an ADR at that very moment!

There’s a little seating area with a tv. I was prepared to wait awhile so I had Luke sit down to watch cartoons.

ry%3D400

I have heard nothing but wonderful reviews of Cape May, so I was really really really looking forward to this meal! Not to mention that I could see Minnie and Goofy in their swimsuits! (I was excited about ALL the characters, but especially Minnie & Goofy!) We didn’t have a wait at all!! We were seated immediately.

I don’t have many pictures of the food. I was starving that morning, which is very unlike me, so I was just focused on eating! I did take a couple pictures from our seat.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

When they seat you, they take your drink orders. I think we all ordered orange juice. Right after the waitress brought our drinks, I noticed Luke looking around. All of a sudden, he got really excited & started pointing! He saw Goofy at a table behind us. I hadn’t taken many “practice pictures” before the characters started coming around. I usually try to take a few & adjust my camera settings when we’re indoors at a meal. I didn’t have a chance to & was disappointed because Goofy is my absolute favorite character!!! I did get a photo of Luke with him and then my husband took one of me, Luke and Goofy.

ry%3D400

Normally at character meals, I wait for the first character to come around & then I get Luke a plate. After I get his plate, I then get my own. So far this has seemed to work out & I haven't missed a character. Although I do always leave my camera at the table & instruct my husband to make sure to take pics of Luke with the characters if I'm still up at the buffet. He does VERY well with this too! He even gets pics of before/after the character is at the table -- so I can see Luke's reactions to them! :thumbsup2

I didn’t take a picture of his plate, but I likely got him a variety of eggs, sausage, rolls, muffins, etc. I know I got him rolls because he loves them! This was my plate:

ry%3D400

Of course I had a chocolate croissant!!!!

The problem (for me) with this meal was that I cannot eat first thing in the morning. Normally. And add on the fact that I was pregnant. I was starving when we arrived -- but once I started getting plates of food, I wasn’t that hungry! So I remember eating a lot of bacon & rolls -- not the greatest thing to eat when you already feel sick!

I decided to let my food digest a little before rushing up to grab another plate, so I got Luke’s second plate and sat back down. A little while later, Minnie came around! Luke watched her go around half the restaurant. He was eating while watching her, but I noticed he didn’t take his eyes off her! I think he was afraid she was going to leave without seeing him first! As soon as she approached the table, he got down from the seat & ran towards her. Then he did the same routine – stand beside her, say cheese and smile, hug her, then get a pic with mom! He had this figured out now!!! This is one of my favorite pics from the entire trip!!!

ry%3D400

I also have to add that the waitress brought Luke a regular cup. It was one of those short clear plastic cups that you use at parties for alcoholic beverages (or at weddings). Restaurants often use them for orange juice or apple juice. She asked if I would prefer him to have a regular Disney cup with a lid & I said yes. She brought it right away – so if your waitress gives you an open cup & you want a lid, just ask! They are very accommodating with satisfying their guests!

After we saw Minnie, I noticed the characters went to the back. I figured it was a good time to grab another plate of food. Since the characters wouldn’t be back for a few minutes, I took Luke with me so he could pick what he wanted to eat. We each got another small plate. When we got back to the table, we waited maybe 5 minutes and then Donald Duck came around. We also saw Goofy a second time. I was glad to have a second chance at a photo since the first was blurry, but the second didn’t turn out great either.

I remember service was pretty slow, but the restaurant was packed full of people. I also remember almost passing out when I saw the bill! My husband and I had just finished a conversation about how the food was “so-so” when the waitress brought the bill. I took one look at it & my eyes got huge! There’s no way I would’ve paid that much out of pocket. We just didn’t eat enough or enjoy it enough. It was a nice one-time thing, but I doubt we’d go back unless we stay at the BC/YC again.

Also, I want to remind you – when you read my breakfast reviews, don’t forget that I am NOT a breakfast person at all! I’d prefer to grab a little container of apples with caramel sauce and a coffee over a full breakfast.
After paying for our meal, we went back up to the room to get the stroller.

Today we were headed to Downtown Disney!!!!

These aren’t the best pictures, but I love the windows in all the shops at DTD!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I would LOVE to do a Disney theme in my kitchen someday!

Our first stop of the morning was

ry%3D400

I wanted to let Luke get more Mr. Potato Head parts. I had hoped they had some Halloween parts but I wasn’t counting on it. Luke filled up part of his box but then he decided that he wanted to play at the table, so I finished filling the box. I overheard another mom questioning the process so I went to help her & explain how to try to stuff the most parts inside & also asked if she was buying a Mr. Potato Head body. If she was, I told her to make sure to stuff some parts inside the body so she didn’t waste room in the box!

I also found out from a CM if you don’t want to buy an entire box, you can buy individual pieces. I believe the price was $2.85 which isn’t terrible if you want one of the large items or a body. I know our Target sells the seasonal versions of Mr. Potato Head for $6.99-7.99 during Halloween, Christmas, etc. and they only come with maybe 3-5 parts.

After filling our box & paying for it at the counter, we found another Pressed Penny machine.

ry%3D400

Some merchandise pictures:

ry%3D400

Remote control monorail, safari vehicle, Test Track car, and Buzz Lightyear Spin car. There was another one or two but I can’t remember what they were & they aren’t pictured. Some of these are also sold at the resort gift shops, the Imagination pavilion, and the giftshop at AK beside the Child Care Center.

ry%3D400

My kids don’t know it yet, but they’re getting the monorail for Christmas next year! I’ll probably pick up a few little sets of the people or smaller accessories on our trip this Fall. I got a GREAT deal on the monorail during one of the Disney Store sales online. I doubt I’ll ever buy the larger pieces – if I change my mind, we’d probably get Epcot since it’s our fav park!

ry%3D400

Luke just stood in the center of the gift shop watching this train go around and around and around. We didn’t mind – we weren’t in a hurry today!

ry%3D400

I love the “Fill A ____” items! I really don’t know of any on property other than the Mr. Potato Head, My Little Pony, and the POTC chest (seen here!) but I think they’re fun souvenirs! I think they should find a way to make a "themed box" for each park! It would be a great seller!!! (Well...I'd buy it anyway!!!)

ry%3D400

We’ve never gone out of OUAT this way before, but when we exited we found benches to sit on and a large fountain area. Luke immediately spotted the water, so we let him play while we sat on the bench & enjoyed the beautiful weather!

ry%3D400

After about half an hour or so, we headed further into the Marketplace. World of Disney had some construction walls around it. We passed by & decided to come back later to shop.

ry%3D400

They were also doing construction around the Lego Store.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Last year when we were at Disney in June, it was sooooo crowded in the Lego Store. We went inside & couldn’t even walk! So we basically went in and right back out. This year, it was so nice – I think at one point there were only five or six other people in there! A lot of people were crowded near the table outside (where the kids can make & race Lego cars) and also inside where the computers are (I think an activity area for kids?)

ry%3D400

I always take a picture of this! I think it’s neat!

ry%3D400

After looking around the Lego store for awhile, we decided we were starving! It was about an hour & a half later than we usually eat & we hadn’t eaten much at our Cape May breakfast.

We ALWAYS go to Earl of Sandwich. I can seriously taste the Hawaiian BBQ sandwich & macaroni salad just talking about it!!! Well, we went to EoS and it was PACKED. It was last year too, but the line was moving quickly. This year, the line was NOT moving at all. We stood in line for a few minutes & it was seriously going nowhere. Not to mention there wasn’t anywhere to sit. We quickly discussed our options before anyone else got behind us in line & blocked us to the point we couldn’t leave the restaurant. We decided to leave & try somewhere new.

So we walked & ended up at

ry%3D400

I’ll attempt to keep this brief because I don’t have many good memories of Pollo Campero

This was my meal:

ry%3D400

This is what I’ll tell you about my meal:

I forced myself to eat my chicken sandwich because I was so hungry & I knew it would be awhile before we got to eat again. I drank at least 4 glasses of Lemonade here because it was the only thing I actually liked. My husband did the same. And so did Luke. And even poor Luke forced himself to eat the chicken he got. And that’s not saying much because I swear to you the kid will eat mostly anything. My cupcake was horrible. I ate the icing off of it & even that was just to get some sugar in my system because I was starving. None of us ate the fries. They were just gross. I apologize for people who enjoy eating here. It’s just a difference in taste. Personally we will never eat here again.

So far, Disney Dining 2 – Us 0.

We were losing the battle with food today!

After drinking way too much lemonade at Pollo Campero, we continued on

ry%3D400

We never do anything on the West Side or Pleasure Island – but we enjoy the walk to the end of DTD & back to the Marketplace.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

This was actually pretty funny because I NEEDED new sunglasses!!! If only it were November instead of September! I’m really interested in going to Sunglasses Icon next trip!

ry%3D400

The highlight of my DTD trip! I cannot wait until this opens!!!

ry%3D400

We walked around for awhile & then headed back up to The Marketplace. I went into my FAVORITE store!!! If you told me that during a Disney trip I could only go into 3 stores on property, I would pick the Emporium at MK, Tren-D at DTD, and MouseGears at Epcot! Those three stores would honestly satisfy my shopping habit!!!

ry%3D400

I’ll warn you ahead of time! I took waaaaay too many pics in here!

ry%3D400

I loved this whole outfit, but it just isn’t “me”

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Love the chandeliers

ry%3D400

I had “scarf for myself” on my souvenir shopping list – but I didn’t buy one because I couldn’t make up my mind!!! (I also already own the green Mickey head one on the far left!)

ry%3D400

I loved this bag & almost bought it but I didn’t because I hate purple. I seriously will not buy a handbag just because it’s purple inside!!! Probably why I live 20 minutes away from a Coach outlet and only own 1 Coach bag! I would own 5 million if they’d put a different color inside but I’ve found that 9 out of 10 bags at the Coach outlet ALWAYS have a purple lining! (yes I hate purple that bad!)

ry%3D400

They also had a matching wallet. I’ve been in search of “the perfect wallet” for months. I looked all summer & couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. (Oh and by the way, it did NOT have the same purple lining that the matching purse had!) I had this in my hand to buy, but realized that I had told my husband to take Luke outside in the stroller…and my money was inside the stroller!

So I snapped this pic & decided to come back later for it. I thought I had exactly $20 left for the day (I had divided up my $ evenly for each day because last year I ran out & only had $6 on our last Epcot day & was smart enough to leave my credit cards at home!)

ry%3D400

After debating about the wallet, I quickly forgot about it as we headed towards:

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I had been talking about the Create Your Own Treat for MONTHS before the trip! It was one of the things I was really looking forward to. I looked over the options & then decided to just get this instead!

ry%3D400

More on THAT later!!! All I can say is…..YUM!!!!

Here is the Create Your Own Treat paper if you’d like to see it:

ry%3D400

After I made my purchase, we went into the art store.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

We just looked around the store & then headed for the bus stop. It seemed like we waited fooooorever. I am usually fairly patient but I was annoyed this time. Mainly because we were sharing a bus with the Boardwalk, BC/YC, Swan/Dolphin – so you would think they’d have more buses since there were more people…but no. We seriously saw two of all the other resort buses before one came to our stop. We FINALLY got onto a bus and back to the Beach Club we went! At this point it was pouring down rain, so we decided to just go to our room & figure out our evening plans later.

We stopped by the Marketplace to refill our mugs & then we just stayed in our room for awhile. It was still early so after a few hours, we decided to explore the Boardwalk. We would let Luke use his free arcade points while we were there & then look for somewhere to eat dinner. I apparently didn’t take any pictures of the Boardwalk. I think it was raining on & off the whole time we were there & I just wanted to walk around & enjoy the scenery instead of enjoying it behind a camera lens. After deciding we didn’t want to eat anywhere on the Boardwalk, we headed back to (yep you guessed it!)

ry%3D400

The magical treasure – the IG!!!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I’m not sure, but I think it was around 5:30 or 6pm at this point. I was shocked that they were already setting up the barges for Illuminations! I figured they didn’t do that until at least 7:30-8pm.

ry%3D400

We still didn’t have a plan for dinner, but we did decide to explore the Mexican pavilion! We hadn’t visited it yet this trip & it’s one of our favorites!

ry%3D400

Since we had cancelled our ADR at San Angel (due to switching our plans around) we decided to eat at the QS restaurant in Mexico.

ry%3D400

This was mine

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

This was my husband’s

ry%3D400

Luke got the chicken. I didn’t take a picture of it, but it was just regular chicken strips. He enjoyed his meal & ate all of his it & part of one of my beef tacos. I didn’t care for the beef tacos. I wish I had tried something different. It might have just been a bad day for the restaurant or maybe my tastes were off due to the pregnancy. But my tacos were pretty dry & even with multiple sauces, sadly I wished I was at Taco Bell! (Yep, sadly!) My husband nachos weren’t that great, but what do you expect? He doesn’t like sour cream & basically got nachos with cheese and tomato! I wish I would’ve tried the nachos – and I would’ve gotten ALL of the toppings for them too!!! The churros however were delicious!!! We’ll probably try this QS again just to give it a second chance.

So yes – today was Disney Dining 3 – Us 0.

We somehow managed to have three meals in the same day that we didn’t enjoy! It was sad for us too because we normally LOVE all of our meals on property!

After we ate, we headed into the pavilion.

I LOVE these little guys!!! I think they’re so neat! But I can’t believe the prices on them!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

My traditional picture that I take yearly!

ry%3D400

Now I’m warning you – these pictures are far from being good. However, I was thrilled to death to actually have pictures inside the Mexican pavilion turn out half good! I have never been able to take decent pics inside here!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I love these & bought a little pink dish with a lid last year. I think it cost under $5-7 if I remember correctly. This year, I just looked and didn’t buy anything, but I think next trip I’ll get either a little treasure box or a vase.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

We attempted to get Luke to ride, but he said he was scared. I don’t remember what the wait time was but I think 5 or 10 minutes (basically a walk on!) Neither of us felt like riding alone or waiting for the other person to be done (long day!) so we just walked around the pavilion & looked in the little shops along the wall.

I tried to get a decent picture of the volcano but this is the best one.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I was THRILLED to get this picture!!! We happened to be walking out of the pavilion when there weren’t any people going in or going out!!! I told my husband to hurry & stand there with Luke so I could get a picture! I knew we probably would’ve have this opportunity again!!! I’m probably lucky I didn’t fall down the steps I was so excited!

ry%3D400

We had some time before Illuminations started & we honestly didn’t care if we missed it because we knew we’d have more opportunities. (We had walked over a few nights during the trip just to watch it & get dessert!) We also rarely stay all day at the parks. We usually head back to our resort anywhere between 3pm-7pm and usually stay only one evening to watch fireworks. We wanted to see all of Epcot at night – and since we have already seen the majority of World Showcase at night (because of viewing Illuminations) we decided to head towards Future World!

Of course all along the way there are five billion stands selling light-up things – so we let Luke choose one. I wanted him to get the Halloween light-up – I think it was a Mickey ghost – or one of the light spinners. But he choose this instead & the entire time I’m thinking “How on earth am I going to pack that in a suitcase?!”

ry%3D400

We went to Fountainview Ice Cream shop and we each got a Rootbeer Float. Then we headed to one of our new favorite places! Club Cool! Luke got the same three he normally got!

ry%3D400

Then we went to one of MY favorite places!

ry%3D400

I really liked all of these tshirts for women but since I was pregnant, I decided not to buy one. I had no idea what size I’d wear post-pregnancy.

ry%3D400

Still mad at myself for not letting Luke get one of the Mickey ghost buckets! Next trip, I don’t care what the popcorn comes in, I’m letting him get one!

ry%3D400

After browsing Mousegears for awhile (and not buying anything!) we headed back towards Norway to get dessert!!!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I think it’s funny that I took so many notes in my cell phone & recapped the days events in my journal before going to bed most nights. And I’m sitting here typing this update without them!!! Anyway, I have no idea what I got. I either got Luke a pretzel and I just got a drink or I got the pear almond tart or the chocolate cake.

I do remember that we stood right outside of the Norway shops to watch Illuminations & I thought it was one of the worst views we had the entire trip!

I got some half decent pictures, but not the best, because my flash was doing crazy things due to the people standing right in front of me. There are also little lights around the Norway pavilion & my flash was bouncing off of those lights. Excuses, excuses – I know!

When Illuminations was over, instead of running towards the IG, we sat down outside the pavilion for a few minutes. Then we started walking around World Showcase & just enjoying nighttime at Epcot!

I took a couple pictures but they weren’t turning out good enough so I just put my camera away & enjoyed the walk back to the Beach Club!!! We were exhausted after a long day and were very much looking forward to MNSSHP the next night!!!

:rolleyes1

I love this professor; he seems like a really nice guy and he's really funny. But he's ALWAYS late!!! He's like 70 something and has been teaching here for almost 50 years. He's usually 5-10 minutes late. Twice he's been over 40 minutes late. On Tuesday, he told us that he was gonna have a meeting on Thursday(today) and if it ran late he wasn't gonna make it to class. He said we should come to class, and he may or may not show up  I'm an idiot, so I came to class and of course it got cancelled. It's so annoying!!! At least it's not my only class today.

I know this is tentative, but what are your dates right now?? We don't have anything set in stone, but we are going back in 2013. We are hoping to go back in early January (around the same time we did this year)...so like right after New Years. Is there a chance you'd still be there at that time? I'd love to finally meet you in person!

:lmao:

I want to meet you too Hope!!! If we go next year, it'll probably be in early January. Wouldn't that be awesome if we all overlapped? (My mom doesn't want to hear about another trip for a few months, so if she asks, I was never talking about this :rolleyes1) With our original trip dates this year, we would've overlapped with Meg by like 4 or 5 days! I would've loved that. I mean, I can see her here since we live so close, but DIS meets in Disney are the best ;)

It was definitely easier for you to get to Cape May than it was for us  We took the boat to MK, and then got on a bus to the Beach Club. MK had just opened, so we were the only crazy people in line for a bus to a resort :lmao:

We missed Goofy :( He had just hit our table before we got there, and it looked like it was gonna be a little while before he got back so we didn't wait because we wanted to get to DHS. We saw him at Tusker House and Chef Mickey's anyway, so it wasn't a big deal at all.

It sounds like Luke is MUCH better behaved at character meals than the little girl sitting near us :rolleyes1 She was screaming for like 10 minutes because she wanted to see Minnie, and then when we were taking pictures with Minnie she was basically crawling onto our table to get to her :headache:

I want a chocolate croissant

We didn't make it to DTD this year or last year. I was talking about going on our free day this trip, but my mom isn't a shopper and I feel bad making her wait for me.

This year I went to Disney with more souvenir money than I've ever had before, and I spent almost all of it :rolleyes1 I'm not too upset with myself though, because I had been saving some of it for 9 months. I had money left over from graduation. How many teenagers save a chunk of their graduation money for a Disney trip that they think probably won't happen? :rotfl: I also had some gift cards, souvenir money from my grandma, etc.

I love, love, love the Boardwalk. We spent about 3 hours there on our free day, just relaxing and walking around a bit. I fell in love with that place!

mega updates.
I do love Cape May breakfast...to bad it didn't work out for you. I want to try dinner there in the future. I have like 12 places I want to eat at and 6 days to do it. LOL.

I have heard only bad reviews of that chicken place in DTD. I bet it goes out soon. I thought it actually kind of smelled weird too.
Not disgusting, jsut not yummy.

That's a funny story about your professor! At least you really like him! The professor that used to do that to me -- well, let's just say none of us wanted to be in his class in the first place! So we didn't miss him at all when he didn't show up! :lmao:

I would love to meet you too!!! That would be GREAT if we all overlapped! Fun, fun, fun!!! :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness!!! I'm sooooo glad you mentioned that you got to MK right at opening in order to get on a bus for the Beach Club. I'll definitely remember that! I can just see me making an ADR for breakfast somewhere at a resort right at park opening -- it probably wouldn't be as bad for just you and your mom as it will be for me with my husband, two kids under age 4 and a double stroller! :scared1:

I would cry if I missed Goofy!!! Goofy, Eeyore, and Chip/Dale are my favorites!!! Minnie too! And Terk! And...well you get the idea! I have a lot of favorites! But Goofy is def my #1 :goodvibes

Luke really enjoyed the character meals!!! I was going to save this story for my PTR but I'll share it with you now! The other day I told him that it will be Tyler's first trip to Disney & I asked him what he wants to show his brother on his very first trip. Luke replied "I want to take him to the eating ride with Farmer Mickey (Garden Grill) and to watch the Disney cartoons on the tvs before we see all of those guys (Epcot's Character Spot) It was adorable to hear!!! I immediately knew what he was talking about. He calls Garden Grill the eating ride because he figured out that we were moving about halfway through our meal! So now he thinks its a ride instead of a restaurant because as Luke says, "you know mommy, restaurants don't move!" :lmao:

I'm not sure if I mentioned it -- but at Crystal Palace, there were these little girls behind us & every time a character would come near my table, they would grab their autograph books & stand right behind my chair. The one time (I think it was when Piglet came over) I couldn't even move my chair to stand up. I think I said something to the mom (she was sitting behind me like 4 feet away! lol). I wasn't rude, I just said "Would it be ok if I got a picture with Piglet before he comes to see your girls?" She understood & asked them to wait their turn. I try my best to be understanding about it -- I mean, the kids don't understand that I want to see the characters more than they do! :lmao: :lmao:

Chocolate croissants...yum...hmm, wonder how much it would cost for me to fly to Disney just for one night to have a few chocolate croissants and chocolate mousse. Sadly, I have been giving this way too much thought recently! :rolleyes1

My parents are worse than me at DTD! I think last year they went there at least three days. My mom shops in the stores while my dad and Matthew go to Disney Quest. I finally got them to eat sandwiches at EoS!!! :thumbsup2

You could always use eating at EoS as an excuse to go to DTD! I know she'd love the sandwiches -- everyone does!!!! I also highly recommend their desserts and the macaroni salad!!!

That's awesome that you saved up your own money for your trip and some of your graduation money too! You're right -- not a lot of teenagers would do that!

I've been selling things on ebay recently to make some extra money for our trip. This year I'm going to attempt to make a shopping list and stick to it. I always go with a list -- I just never look at it after we get off the plane! It's actually funny because I was reading my PTR a few weeks ago & I noticed that I didn't buy anything on my original shopping list!

I wish we would've gone to the Boardwalk & walked around on a day it wasn't raining. I think we would've enjoyed it a lot more! I also wanted to rent a surrey bike & I can't remember why we didn't. I think we were hungry. Walking the Boardwalk is one of the best memories of the trip. It was very relaxing & I can still picture Luke walking around with his giant popcorn! He was sooo happy that day! I think I'm going to need to write popcorn and pressed pennies on Luke's shopping list! popcorn::

I was smart this time too! I have more updates typed in Word & I didn't post all of them! I figured I'd save some for next week too!

I have a list of places from last trip that I'd like to try again. My appetite is always weird when I'm pregnant, so I'm definitely willing to give Cape May another try! I think we just aren't Disney breakfast people. Maybe I should try the dinner at Cape May instead.

I think we're in the same boat, Jen!!! I have a million places I want to try too & I keep telling myself I have to limit it! We love all the restaurants we've tried at Epcot & want to try a bunch more. If we decide to stay somewhere near Epcot, it would be fine to schedule ADR's there even when we aren't going to Epcot. But I have a feeling we aren't. Oh how I will miss the IG!!! It's going to be very hard to limit the Epcot restaurants.

Your replies recently have been seriously cracking me up!!! :lmao:

I'm still laughing about you calling me a sneaky bugger...and then you called Brook one the other day on the MWT page! I have no idea why I think it's so funny...maybe it's the lack of sleep or the fact that I usually read/reply to DIS between midnight and 3am! :surfweb:

Anyway, YES Pollo Campero even has a funny smell...and no its not a good smell. It's like a weird nursing home food smell maybe :confused3 Or like a really bad day at the school cafeteria :confused3 I'm not sure how to describe the smell other than it was bad...and so was the food... :scared:

Yay for updates! I STILL haven't done my mini TR. It's like I have a mental block or something. I just don't get it. Though with the way work will be for the next few weeks, I will probably have time. Maybe I should make it a goal to get it done before I go to DC...

Evidently you didn't get the memo that you need to run your vacation ideas through me first! :rotfl2:

I completely understand, Steph!!! I try for days to even just LOG ON to DIS and read!!! I tell myself I'm going to almost everyday and before I know it, I look at the clock and its 10:30pm and I'm just completely exhausted! So 9 times out of 10, DISing just doesn't happen :confused3

I turned the computer on the other night & meant to get on DIS but it seemed more important at the time to show Luke YouTube videos of TSMM and the Christmas decor at the resorts!!! :rolleyes1

I'm actually attempting to have Luke choose the resort. I know, I must be crazy to let a almost-4 year old plan my vacation, but I am dreading a repeat of last September. I want this trip to go as smooth as possible, especially since its Tyler's 1st trip. AND most importantly, I want Luke to have a wonderful trip!!! So I'll do what I have to do to make it work out!

If you don't do your mini TR before DC, guess you'll have to do a second mini TR on DC too! ;)

:lmao:

I'll try to remember to text or email you first before I plan the next trip! :rolleyes1

We didn't care for Pollo campero either. I ate it since I'm not that picky and hate throwing food out. But I don't know if I'd go back.

I am trying to get Jack's opinion on which resort we will stay at too! I am pretty sure it will be a value, so that narrows the options down considerably, but I am also surprising him with this trip, so we shall see...

I got my first day up already, and I AM going to get day 2 done on Monday. Day 3 will be easy, so I am pretty optimistic I will get it done. Then I can get a mini DC TR in before I start in heavy with planning for our next trip!
