preferred site

Does anyone have the loop numbers for the preferred sites? I have a reservation for preferred but don't know where they are. I have a child with a disability and was wanting to get as close to the marina as possible. Does anyone know if that is possible? Also, when will my site be assigned as it is not yet for a reservation that begins April 17, 2006.

The preferred loops include the 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 700 and 1400 loops.

When making reservations you can ask to be assigned to a specific loop, and they will even note a specific favorite site, but remember nothing is guaranteed! While I could give specific instructions, I would just recommend reading one of the best articles I have found regarding site/room requests is "Faxing Your Room Preferences To Your Disney Hote" by Jack Marshall.

I have a map on my site (link below), but the 100 loop will be the closest. Site assignments are made 2-3 days before check in. Don't bother calling as it is Disney policy not to release room/site numbers until you are at the desk checking in and your room/site is ready for occupancy.

Definitely call and let them know your preference. They'll note it on your reservation and I think it actually DOES get taken into account when they assign sites. We have always requested the 1400 loop (best proximity to the pool and campfire) and we've always been assigned a site there. They make no promises, but I think they really try to accommodate requests. And Tim is right - you won't find out what site they've assigned you until you actually show up.
