Which site should I go with? I planned on going with premium. But now I am wondering if those sites are too open. We like to have a lot of trees and greenery around us. But I think a bigger site would be nice although we probably won't be spending too much time outside.
We have a 30' travel trailer with an awning and slide out. My husband is very good at backing the camper in tight spots.
We were there about 6 years ago and stayed in a preferred site. It was pretty narrow.
I just don't want to feel like I am in an open field.
Thanks for any advice given.

It's your choice,,everyone has a, "different/their own", preference.
All Disney did was pour a couple more feet of concrete to the existing slab,,,it's not exactly like your sitt'n inna open field. The sites are pretty much the same size as you remember, just with more slab now. Disney didnt make the sites any bigger,,just the slabs.

However, what will give you that sitt'n inna open field feeling is the fact that two seasons ago Disney came thru the Fort and completely ripp'd up all the foilage cept trees and plants native to Florida,,NOW everything is bare. They have replanted, but its gonna take time for that new stuff to grow.

We usually stay in Loop 300 because we travel with dogs. It is a preferred site and we like it's proximity to the dog park and the marina. When we are going to stay for longer than 3 days and we have a few dollars extra we go for the premium and try for Loop 500, again for the above reasons. The Premium sites are nice if you want some room to spread out. After your first trip you will love it so much you will want to come back again. It was that way for us. We have stayed in Loop 800 the first time, Loop 300 for about 6 times and Loop 500, once. Each loop is good for different reasons. Look at the map of the campground and decide what you want to be close to....pool, marina, or maybe you don't want to be close to anything and want to be off the beaten path. There is the beauty of FW. There is something for everyone.

We stayed in October in the 200 loop. My husbands family stayed in the 800 Loop. I paid less than them and had an awesome site. No backyard neighbors - just the cypress trees and marsh. I think it was site 211. We had a 34' Travel Trailer and had tons of room. The back end made you feel as if you were at the beach with the coquina shell. Very large spot - larger than our familes at the 800 loop. :thumbsup2

IMHO the 3 Preferred loops (100, 200, 300) feel a lot less "open" than many of the Premium loops - especially now that they've replanted a lot of the areas they cleared. These loops are older than many of the Premium loops, and some of the sites are a little smaller or closer together.

That said, 300 is our favorite loop of all. We camp with 3 dogs in a hybrid TT that opens to 30'. This November we also setup a 9x12 pen for the dogs behind the TT and still had plenty of room for the picnic table and to park our SUV and golf cart.

We find most of the outer sites to be pretty roomy - some on the inside are a bit shorter. Many in the first third of the loop back up to the playground and/or dogwalk canal (nice grassy area). Mid-way sites in outer loop (333-ish) are backed up nicely by shrubs, making it feel even a bit more private.

Preferred loops are all a reasonably short walk to the Settlement, with 300 closest to the playground/dog park (it's the only Preferred Pet loop), and not a terribly long walk to the pool/Meadows.

On our first trip to the Fort last year we stayed in the 300 loop It was OK but a little tight for us. We have a 34 foot class A with slides and our dog setup is to the side. While the sand pad is nice for camping we just did not need it. This year ( we arrive the 23rd ) I am requesting the 900 loop. I have thunder phobic pups and we want to be a little further away from the lake. Also as a premium loop we can put the MH at the back of the site, be off the road more, and spread out to the side more. I am also hoping that with less trees I might get my sat dish to work as the cable service is some what limited. Here is a pick of our setup last year.

You have very beautiful pups,:goodvibes
I can see the white one real well, not the others too good.

Thanks. The small ones are Whippets and that's a Doberman in the back. They go with us everywhere. As you can see we create a fenced in yard for them so they can be good neighbors and enjoy the outdoors.

They're beauties - and so great they get to camp with you! :goodvibes

We had a similar pen setup for our 3 border collies in November in the 300 loop. This was site 334...
