Preferred parade seating

We're booked through Costco again but this time, because I booked through Visa Rewards, we received a "Preferred Parade Seating." What is this? I'm sure we'll find out when the package gets here, but just curious. Anyone know how this works?

I don't know if it is still the same, but when we had it a few years ago, there was a small roped off area for the viewing. There were no seats, but just an area to stand that only those with the parade passes could enter.

Do you remember where the area was? IASW or Castle Hub or Main Street? Just trying to get an idea of where I might be standing.

We were there over Halloween and I asked the CM what the area roped off was for and they said Fireworks Priority Seating. That area was in the Main Hub in front of the Castle, right by the Walt and Mickey statue.
There were benches at that time so not standing. He also said that your name had to be on the list that he was holding in order to be there.

Does anyone know other ways to request this area?
We will be there for New Years and would love to have this !

Again, this was a few years ago, but at that time I believe it was closer to the It's a Small World area than Main Street.

I just did the preferred parade viewing on Saturday for the 5:30PM Christmas parade. It is closer to Its a Small World but it is more across from the Storybook Canal Boats. When you're walking towards IASW there is that raised area, you are up on there. It is roped off and there is a CM standing there collecting the vouchers.

There were probably no more than 20 people in the roped off section which was nice so somebody isn't breathing down your back but you do have to stand up the whole time since there is the fence/gate railing and if you sit down you won't see anything. We got there late about 5:10 or so and all the railing spots were taken but there was a planter section up there and we just stuck the kids in there in the front so they could see. It actually worked out for them since they could sit. I stood behind them and the planter. I would recommend getting there a little bit earlier so you can get a railing spot. HTH!
