We have secured a point rental to stay at the BWV May 12-19, 2006. 
I don't know if we should get a preferred BW view or just go with the standard. It is only $280 more total for the preferred. It will be me, DH30, Gma and Gpa, DD2.5 and DS5(his bday trip! 
). We thought about getting a BW view and requesting(I know, it's only a request!)an EPCOT fireworks view. But, will being on the BW bother the kids? They go to bed at 8pm, probably a little later during vacation. Is it really worth the extra $? We could pay for someone's park tix with that money. We don't plan on being in the room except in am and at bedtime. Let me know what you think.

I would save the money and buy tix w/ it instead. Again just my opinion. Please note, if you do go w/ the std view you want the owner to make reservations RIGHT AWAY as the std. view ALWAYS go first. You will have a wonderful time. Be prepared, once most people stay in DVC, they want to buy.
