Right now I have a preferred spot, but I'm wondering if I should switch to Full-Hook up. I read that the preferred spots can be a little noisy. Are they that noisy though?

We're renting 2 carts from Kenny so being close to things isn't that important.

I always get a Preferred site. Try to get Loop 100. I've stayed in 1400 on the inner loop. I didn't find 100 any noisier. You are closer to the marina and the Settlement (which is why I like it). You do hear the boat whistles, but that is just part of the atmosphere. Others have complained about more foot traffic, but that has never bothered me and I didn't find it noisy.

The convenience of the Preferred sites is great.

Do these spots also have sewer? We're planning coming down in a few months in a smaller sprinter van motorhome. Don't mind a small sight, but want water, electric and sewer. Also was hoping to be near kayaking?? We thought we read you can rent kayaks, but we have our own blow up kayak. Would the 100 area be good for us also? Thanks.;)

The Preferred loops have full hook ups.(Electric, water, sewer and cable) I don't think 100 would be good for a kayak. Until I looked at the map, I didn't think it was that close to the canal. Not sure about 200 or 300.

The bike barn does rent canoes. Not sure about kayaks or what the rules are about bringing your own.

I'm sure some of the other regulars will jump in soon to answer those questions.

don't waste your time Disney does not let anyone put any boats in the canal but There's

^^^^ is correct, only their rentals allowed.

I can confirm that FW staff will not let you use your own watercraft (I was told it was for security and environmental reason which is a bit of a joke).

We were in 1400 outer loop last year and I happened to have my inflatable SUP so thought it would be fun to go on the canal. Within about 15 minutes I had 3 separate staff tell me I wasn't allowed (The first when I passed BikeBarn and then 2 others after I turned around and was going back to our site). However I suspect that if you went away from Bike Barn, no one would ever notice you and you can go on the canal on "outside" (to the East side) of FW. Just don't go on Bay Lake (actually I think they might have barriers preventing it anyway).

I agree with a previous poster who said stick with the preferred and get Loop 100. It is so cool to be able to hear the boats coming and going.

We also have an inflatable, ours is a 2 person kayak. That's too bad. You know I remember why we stopped doing Disney resorts, besides the fact that we had our dog (and now inherited my mom's on her passing), all this nickel diming. I'm not renting a kayak when I have my own. Who knows, between that and the fact that the time I want to go down there a full hookup, preferred campsite is $140 a night (didn't pay that for the moderates we used to go to), may just end up in the Sheraton which is pet friendly and I can go on points, or maybe even a Universal hotel. I hope not, really was excited about driving down to Disney campground in our camper van, but already I'm getting discouraged.
