Preferred fireworks viewing

Hi,

I was pleased to see on my holiday confirmation that we were entitled to one preferred fireworks viewing for both Wishes and Illuminations, this wasn't something I was expecting when booking and thought that it was a nice extra touch.

However, it didn't mention on the confirmation that this needed booking in advance! I didn't realise until I read it on here, and when I phoned through (a good 2 months beforehand), preferred viewing for Wishes was totally booked for the duration of our holiday .

I know this is not something I can really moan about as it is a free goodwill gesture from Disney but it would have been nice if they could have made it clear on our invoice that it was 'first come, first served' and that it needed reserving.

Does anybody know if it would be worth me trying again nearer the time or whilst we are in the resort to see if anyone has cancelled?

This was an offer coming directly from DISNEY?

Regardless, if it is something that requires guests to pre-register, it never hurts to keep checking back
repeatedly as the date get closer.
Guests do change their minds.

Preferred fireworks viewing is included in packages booked with Disney UK

I'm sure you could only book it in advance but it could be worth trying again. We turned up late to ours after a looong wait for food in Le Cellier and Illuminations had already started but they were still accommodating. Lots of people change their plans when they get out there so you could always try.

We had the opportunity to book the preferred fireworks through AAA. I called months before we traveled and experienced the same thing--it was booked solid. What they lady told me was to show up at the viewing area with my proof of eligibility to be there and if there was room, they would allow us in. As the past poster listed, plans always change so I would well imagine that space opens up as people don't show up despite their reservation. Good luck.

That sounds a good idea - I expect people sometimes don't turn up on the night, so we will definitely try asking. Thanks for the info

Do you know when us brits we can book these locations? 180 Days out?

I'm not sure if it was 180 days or 90 days, I do remember there being limited space whenever I tried to book though.

I was able to book Illuminations at 180 days out, but was told Wishes 'hadn't been made available' yet. This was in March for our September trip.

Over the years I have viewed the fireworks from a number of preferred viewing areas. Many people do not show up, there has always been plenty of room for walkups. Enjoy. And welcome to the dis.
