Has anyone who booked through Disney UK taken up the offer of the Preferred Fireworks viewing for Illuminations and Wishes (or whatever it will be at the time of travel)? If so, I am curious to know whether you have to phone Disney UK or if you can do it through the Dining number in the US. I don't fancy holding on the UK line on a Bank Holiday. The prospect of another hour on hold with a crackling soundtrack of the Seven Dwards yodelling and whistling Heigh Ho in my ear for 60+ minutes is less than appealing. :rolleyes1

By all accounts the Wishes one really isn't worth the bother, not a great view apparently.
Not heard about the IllumiNATIONS one tho :)

:goodvibes

Wow Luke - you're on the ball tonight! My keyboard is still hot from submitting the thread!

I know the Wishes is not the best spot and may or may not bother to book it, let alone actually use it. But Illuminations is one of the highlights of my trip and that is a good viewing spot so it is quite high on my priority list to get that one. :)

would explain why you are organising a jazzuzi with strange women in a strange country;)

Hello

I booked my first ten day's of ADRs and the firework viewing with disney dining reservations :goodvibes

Thanks Eeyorefan. Did you call the US number or did you dial through Disney UK? I would love to hear what you think of the viewing location when you get back.

See now I went to make dinner and missed all the fun .... I am blaming EVERYTHING on the summer time change that coincded with wading in knee-deep snow to school with spring Easter bonnets.

Oooh, a stalker! That's the most exciting thing I've had in years! :lmao: I didnt think I was that interesting (and note there is no laughing smiley after that comment). Funny, I look out for you on the restaurant boards too. I think when you deal with special dietary requirements you become somewhat obsessed with keeping up to speed with what can and can't be done and also really wanting to help anyone who is struggling. Maybe I will calm down after my ADRs on Monday :rolleyes1

BTW, when I first read your question I thought you were asking why "2Tiggies". Tiggi has been my daughter's nickname since I was pregnant. When she started talking I would call her Tiggi and she would call me Tiggi back. Hence the 2Tiggies.

well Lee its nice to meeet you:hug:
yes, all of those things fit, having special dietary needs (both myself and ds with asd) disney is a thing we can both do, yes i like to keep up with whats good and whats bad:rotfl:
i know your daughter has dietary needsto so i guess we do follow each other round:lovestruc
your adrs will be fine, though i understand you ll be less stressed when they are done.
we have changed ours several times so just think they arenot set in stone

My mind has gone blank ......... must be the us number as i had to get the 12 digit reference number????

Of course when i am back i will tell you about both viewings.

I know the MK is not supposed to be that great but thought worth a try.

Still hoping for wishes dessert party in august

The preferred viewing area of Illuminations is at the Marocco Pavillion. Not sure if that's a good location though.

You can book your preferred fireworks view at 180 prior your arrival.

Ooh this would be interesting to know and we are thinking about booking the preferred viewing for Illuminations too. DF says its in Morocco and I think that its in the UK, but am I wrong?

So far it has been at the boat landing at Morocco, which is roped off and you have to bring your confirmation that you are entitled to the viewing which needs to be pre booked and is subject to availability. It is actually quite a good spot and you only have to get there about 15 minutes early. Of course they could move this at any time. The one in the MK is outside the Plaza restaurant and there are so many trees there that I can't imagine getting a good view and am therefore unlikely to take advantage of this one as there are better spots in the MK

OIC, so where abouts would the roped off area be? Near the entrance to the queue for the boat?

We are on the QSDP free dining so I am only making 6 TS ressies. The nice thing is because we are paying OOP for TS I am not restricted to choosing places that participate in the Dining Plan.

My line up so far is:

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Chef Mickeys
Crystal Palace (our favourite)
House of Blues
O'Hana
1900 Park Fare (which I am still in two minds about)

I am more bothered about getting the times I want rather than the days. DD has a habit of wanting to eat breakfast as soon as she gets up. She practically eats her cereal with her eyes still closed :scared1: so a very early breakfast is best for us. I don't like a heavy meal at night so It's breakfast and lunches aside from HoB. These are places DD wanted to try or favorites she wants to go back to so once they are booked I will feel it is a success. It is getting hard not to hint about it now -I've kept my secret for 11 months!

Did you get your special diets info and sheet from Disney yet?

As far as I understand it is on the actual jetty so I take it the rope wont be too far out as there is quite a low limit on the number of people they allow in per night.

Doesn't it have a cover above your head? It must have a very limited amount of people that can view from there then, about 10-20ppl would you say?
