Figures I just bought 4 Preferred Annual Passes from Costco.com on Saturday :sad2: , hopefully I can return them when they arrive so we can do this instead.

Copied off of www.aaasouth.com :

Entitles one guest to admission to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure for a 2-year period beginning with the first day of use. This pass includes park-to-park access (visit both parks in the same day).

ETA: tinaluis has confirmed ordering the passes online. Here is the webpage:

It also has an order by phone option: Prefer to order tickets by phone? Call us at 1-877-537-7283

At Costco.com they are 179.99 but you get 3 extra months free (you have to activate the pass by 9/30/06 or it activates itself then) - basically 15 months for the price of 12.

At aaasouth.com the AAA member price is normally 174.95 (a $5 discount off the gate price), but I'm not sure if the buy 1 year get 2nd free will be discounted at all.

they've brought back the promo at the same time they've unveiled the Premier Annual Pass, that's interesting.

I didn't think I could remember any of the zip codes from the south. I used 32820 and it let me in. :goodvibes

The AAA South site is showing the 15 month power pass for $104.95 right now.

"Retail Price is for a 12-month Pass.

Blackout Dates for 2006:
April 10-15 (9 am to 5 pm on April 15)

December 23 - January 1, 2007.

Can anyone use this promotion? Is so, where would you purchase the tickets. Thanks

The web page with details is here.

For power passes, it says this...
There is no specified redemption date. Park to Park Access. Purchaser must be a AAA member and show their AAA card. Passes may be purchased for family and friends and the member does NOT need to be with them when the tickets are redeemed at the park. Blackout dates apply.

It's the same for preferred passes, just that no blackout dates apply and you get free parking with discounts. So basically what they're saying, is the person buying the tickets must be an AAA member, and that person must buy them from a regional office. Once you have the tickets, it doesn't matter who you are. Universal doesn't ask for the AAA card when you enter the park.

Regional offices are located in Florida, and southern Georgia. If you know friends in Florida, they could buy the passes for you. Try these locations.

Can any AAA member buy these tickets at the FL offices? Or do you have to have a FL address on file with your AAA membership?

I just called yesterday about this, and was told that I could buy these tickets with my AAA membership (not Florida). I was told they do not sell any tickets over the phone, and so if you do not have the Florida AAA to purchase them online, you must wait until you arrive in Orlando and go by their office.

Does anyone know which office is closest to Universal? If so, approximately how far is it?

Thanks

AAA South also has locations in Memphis, Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The Chattanooga location is very convenient for those traveling down I-75. It is right behind Hamilton Place Mall that is adjacent to the interstate. For those headed south, take exit 5 (Shallowford Rd) and turn left. Turn right at the 3rd traffic light between Walgreen’s and Steak & Shake onto Gunbarrel Rd. Turn right at the 2nd traffic light into the rear entrance of Hamilton Place Mall (for reference, there will be a Wal-Mart plaza on your left). The AAA office is immediately on your right.

The return to the interstate is very easy. Follow the ring road around the mall to the side facing the interstate. There is an entrance ramp to I-75 South adjacent to the big mall sign.

The phone number for that AAA office is 423-490-2000. I would call to make sure they have the tickets you need.

Well, the website has changed a bit, I guess it starts today :thumbsup2 :
