we have sceduled seaworld and aquatica for labor day weekend ( 1 day at each). anyone have any sort of idea what crowd levels will be like (for seaworld).
i know its the last weekend for summer nights at seaworld (which we've never done) so that may increase attendance.
what sort of ride times are we likely to experience, and how early should we show up before show times.
i'm hoping that with the extended opening hours, the park will be doable in one day, correct me if i'm wrong.
the best way to give me an indication of what its likely to be like is to compare it to a weekend in late April/early May
TIA

That's new to me....hadn't heard about extended opening hours. Hours are still 9-10PM on Sat and Sunday and Labor Day itself closes at 8PM

On a holiday weekend......lines will be long for all the coasters. Lines will be long for food and drinks. Stadiums will fill up 30 minutes prior to show time or have lines completely circling the stadiums and they will announce show closings up to an hour before the major shows including Pets Ahoy. Sounds horrible, but you will still have fun. Probably won't see and do everything.

If you haven't seen the night shows definitely go but get to them early. We went on Thursday June 25 . We could not get into a couple of the daytime shows 20 minutes before show time and had to change the order we planned. We went early to SeaLions Tonight and waited for them to open the stadium. We were about 100 people back from the rope. Went straight to Shamu Rocks after SLTonite and ended up to the side and high up in the stands. Bayside stadium was already filling the upper level by the time we got out of our perch at Shamu Rocks.

sorry for the confusion, i was referring to the 10pm closing time. when i checked, after labour day the park hours shorten to just 6pm. We'll Just have to get there at opening and head straight for the rides (same plan as most i expect), then just do what we can.
its either that or US/IoA, but they'll be just as bad.

Thanks for that update. I too, am planning a trip to Sea World for Labor Day weekend. Right now, we are scheduled to do Discovery Cove on Saturday and am contemplating whether to do Sea World on that Sunday or wait until Labor Day. Either way, I guess the crowds will be the same.

We'll be at Discovery Cove that Saturday too!!!!!!!!!!!

We have Seaworld planned for Sunday.....hope the crowds are managable. That is why we chose Discovery Cove that Saturday so we wouldn't have to deal with the crowd level plus we'll be in the water if it's 1000 degrees!

That weekend is insane with people. One of the most busy times of the year because its the last weekend before kids go back to school. If you go, get there early. Crowds really pick up around noon. Its funny though because if you can stay until the day after labor day, the crowds drop by about 20,000 people in one day. Im not kidding. September after labor day is the slowest time of year.

We booked our Discovery Cove day for labour day, in the hopes of having a better chance of experiencing a relaxing day away from crowds. :)

We will be doing our SeaWorld day a little later in the week after labour day.
