Well when they finally win a superbowl, someone is going to look up and say My great great great great great great great great........great grand parent is looking down and smiling today.I wish I wasn't a Bengals fan
Right there with you my friend. I am from Cincinnati and will always be a Bengals fan but I know live in Patriots country. Sigh.I wish I wasn't a Bengals fan
Going back to my AFC vs NFC annoyance...the 49ers, Packers, Saints, Seahawks, Vikings, and mayyybe the Rams are better than every team in the AFC other than the Patriots. Whoever wins the NFC is going to go through a gauntlet.
The Chiefs are scary on offense even without Mahomes, but that defense is just so bad. They don't have a chance to make a meaningful stop in the Playoffs. I'd probably take the Ravens or Texans over the Chiefs at this point. The Chiefs are still a great team. With Mahomes I would take them over any team in the NFC other than the Packers and Saints. The Steelers unfortunately lost Big Ben which killed their season. No idea what's up with the Chargers this year.
It looks like the Ravens might be turning things around a bit. But other than that, I don't see an AFC team I have much confidence in at the moment. Several teams have injury woes and others aren't even close to playing where they should be. The Chiefs have the potential to turn things around. But there is no D in Kansas City at the moment.Going back to my AFC vs NFC annoyance...the 49ers, Packers, Saints, Seahawks, Vikings, and mayyybe the Rams are better than every team in the AFC other than the Patriots. Patriots...16-0
Predicted on 9/5/19....So far, so good: 7-0!!!!!
I can't hate on the Pats today, since my team barely showed up to the game yesterday.
Patriots 8-1
The Ravens played very well, and Lamar Jackson is an amazing athlete. It took the defense a little too long to adjust. Thank God for special teams and the defense.... we're on to the bye week.
My son is a Ravens fan, so at least one of was happy. And, Patrick Ricard is a local guy to my hometown, so it's nice to see a small town guy doing well in the big leagues.
It's so funny how the rest of the NFL is acting like the sky is falling for the Patriots. They throw up a stinker every year and ALWAYS bounce back. Sanu is starting to get in the groove. Harry is about to come back. I'll take this loss instead of a loss in January. Jackson is an amazing athlete, no question there. That being said, this is the Patriots. If they have to play the Ravens in the Playoffs, he'll be contained. He's not much of a threat with his arm. People outside of New England expect the Patriots to win every game, and when they lose, it's all over. They're not perfect. They're just much better than the rest of the league and when they do lose, they learn from it, make adjustments, and take care of business. Belichick rarely loses against the same team twice in a row. Nevertheless, it'll be fun to watch the rest of the league's fans jump on the annual Patriots falling off the cliff bandwagon while they march right into the Playoffs.
I got a kick out of the "MVP" chants from the Ravens fans last night..... easy there, Jackson is good, but has a ways to go yet.

Who is doing that?
Jackson absolutely is a threat with his arm, that's why he's been effective so far. If all he could do was run NFL teams would easily stop it. He's not the greatest passer in the league but it's not like he's a RB playing QB. I just don't think he'll be able to stay healthy for a long career playing like this.
I haven't heard anything like that from any media yet.Media outside of New England, and some even within it. Happens every time Brady has an off game or the Patriots lose. Ask Max Kellerman.
I'm not saying he can't throw. However, when (not if) a team figures out how to stop him from running, he'll be in trouble. He's like RGIII. NFL teams have been trying to win with the wildcat or pistol for years. It can win a few games, but it's not a style that will have long term success. Teams that win the Super Bowl are teams with traditional offenses and strong, smart QB's. Obviously Brady. Rodgers. Brees. Rothilesberger. Manning.
I haven't heard anything like that from any media yet.
That all seems like pretty mild stuff, hardly 'sky is falling'. Someone said Tom Brady hasn't been playing great, that's probably true. Someone predicted they would lose that game, he was right. The only thing questionable is Skip Bayless and if anyone is still taking his 'opinion' seriously anymore then I don't know whats wrong with them. I use 'opinion' because he doesn't really have opinions, he just says whatever will cause controversy for ratings on their show.
