It's a really sad yet hopeful story! The book is even better! I called my mom afterwords too!! We never realize how lucky we are until we see someone who is not quite as lucky as us!! Sounds like you are a wonderful mother!!

I cried when I watched Precious. It was such a moving story. Very excited that Mo'Nique won an award for her performance. It was very strong at some points but however it got the message across beautifully.

That movie was so great and so sad. Who knew Mo'Nique was such a powerful actress.

Not regarding this movie - but when my DD went away to college, her first visit home, she thanked me for her father and I giving her such a "normal" childhood. Made my my heart swell up.

what is really sad, is the fact that what happened to her happens a lot more than people care to admit. Great movie though

It is a VERY difficult and somewhat disturbing movie to watch, but one that I am glad I did watch. The performances are amazing and it is very easy to see why Mo'Nique won and Gaby was nominated.

I too am SOOOO grateful for the wonderful childhood I had and thank my parents often.
