Pre Wine and Dine meal?

So where is everyone eating for a pre-W&D meal? DH and I would like to eat somewhere for lunch but don't want anything too heavy. All of our faves sound like a ton of bricks when anticipating a run later in the evening.

I try to just roll the clock around and make my breakfast resemble my dinner for a morning race then have a light carby meal about 3 hours pre-race

I think I would aim more for a nice brunch rather than a lunch. I would keep the brunch balanced and make it the larger meal of the day. I would not overload on carbs or Kcal.

I would then look to a lighter mid-afternoon lunch/dinner. Again light and balanced. Looking at my log, I had small lunch salad with chicken.

Finally, about 7-9 I would eat something resembling a pre-race breakfast. I generally eat something like a bagel or oatmeal, OJ and banana. I will also eat a Cliff bar or a gel in the last 15-20 minutes pre-race.

Hope this helps

When I did the W&D I walked around the World Showcase and had some samples from the kiosks. Just don't try anything overly adventurous. I took a nap before the race and timed it so I woke up about the same amount of time as I would for a morning race and then mimicked that. Had a cliff bar and water like I would before a morning race. Stretched out the same way and warmed up the same way.

I do about 90% of my training runs in the evening or even night (my last 20 mile run before the 2011 marathon I started after midnight) so I might be more used to evening running than most.

To be young again :)

Mostly the same as FireDancer. Had a satisfying but not huge breakfast, then lunch at Rose & Crown. Tried to nap without much success, so I sat on a bench at the resort and read a book. Around 6 or 7pm I had my usual pre-race meal of apple with peanut butter and part of a bagel. Then Gu just before race start.

Not a bacon cheeseburger. Haha...DH ate one(despite my warnings) before his first WnD. We made MANY pIt stops that night.
