Pre-Wedding Beauty Regimes

Well, To address the baggy eyes, I use The bodyshop's vitamin E eye cream. I smile constantly which is great for my soul but RUINS my eye area. THIS stuff works wonders. i put it in my fridge (for some reason) and use it EVERYDAY x2. If I stop for some reason I see an almost immediate decline in my eye area. It's 17.00 a tube too which is MUCH cheaper than lancome, estee, etc. Best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

OMG I totally need that cream. Thanks :thumbsup2

Thanks for this Carrie, so strike 2 against Disney is that it'd be more expensive to get them done there!
Do you think my nails will survive the trip if I get them done at home? I only want them relatively short and I could get everyone else to carry my luggage for me! ;)

I'll bet they would last just fine. Maybe your nail tech could make you a touch-up kit even (if you can take mail polish on the plane... I've never thought about that before...). Plus, it would be a FABulous excuse not to carry luggage! :lmao:

Okay, no making fun- I'm prob. a little "extreme".

1. FACE/HAIR-For the actual day, I am having a makeup and hair artist take care of me- updo, false lashes, the works. In advance, I am sticking to washing and moisturizing twice daily, using my undereye at bed. I will also get my highlights and cut taken care of at home.

2. BODY-I am exercising (bike, Curves, jog/walk 4x week) and attempting to do pushups= trying on the stairs first, its easier and my arms have gotten weak. I am also getting a little spider vein injected to clear it up. I am also going tanning, closer to the event, I will go more, but I go once a week, it keeps my skin clear. This will sound horrible, but depending on my DF's raise, I might go for laser hair removal. I've gone 3x but it was too expensive to finish- I still have a lot of hairless patches onmy legs though! I only shave 1-2x week! So, being on a budget, I have to consider that carefully.

3. TEETH- I am using Rembrandt strips and Go Smile Touch Ups. One week before the wedding, I will whiten and stop using all coffees, teas and wines. I am also having porcelain veneers put on my 2 front teeth. I broke my front tooth in half years ago and the bonding is beginning to discolor, so my real front tooth is nice and white and the one next to it is three different shades, which I HATE.

4. NAILS-I will be getting a manicure and pedicure, probably gel nails because they won't chip like a regular mani, at home and just a pedicure refresher at WDW if I need it.

5. WEIGHT- I am trying to lose 40-50 more lbs. (I lost 18 so far) My Dr. recommended South Beach Diet, so I'm on that. I am also planning on staying away from caffeine and sodium for about a week before the wedding.

6. EVERYTHING- water, water, water- good for skin, body, weight, everything! AND of course pray I don't fall and get a black eye, or develop a huge pimple or anything like that!

I really wanted to get those "blue" drops that make your eyes look whiter but they said don't use with contact lenses- anyoneknow anything about them?

I don't think that is extreme! I am gonna diet as soon as we get back for our PS trip. I figured, why bother now when I will be eating all that good disney food. I am gonna do a bootcamp type workout as well. I would like to lose about 40lbs.

I am having my hair and makeup down the day of the wedding. I will get a manicure too. Gonna get my teeth whited as well. I already have a beauty regime.

Oh and I was gonna get one of those Zeno pimple things just incase.

Sleeping with your head slightly elevated helps puffy eyes. It helps with reducing fluid retention in that area. Drinking lots of water helps too. I've also found that just getting enough sleep is a great help!

Keeping skin (and especially the thin, delicate skin around the eyes) well-moisturized really makes a difference.

Drinking lots of water and eating well (lots of foods with vitamins and antioxidants like dark greens and berries) helps a lot.

I try to use an eye cream with vitamin K for dark circles. My dermatologist recommended it and I keep reading in all my beauty and health mags (Shape, Allure, Self, Glamour, etc) that vitamin K is key in reducing under-eye circles. Vitamin K reduces bruising and constricts blood vessels and this is why it works. I used to swear by Pond's Age defEye eye cream. I can really see a difference when I use it. The eye cream has been discontinued (though it does pop up on ebay) and I'm rationing my stash.

It is pretty easy to find eye cream with vitamin K (vitamins C and E are very important, too as are antioxidants) and I'm considering this Ole Henriksen Nurture Me eye cream. It is slightly pricey, but I like Ole Henriksen products. MD Skincare Lift and Lighten eye cream was recommended in Shape.

I just got a sample of Kinerase Extreme Eye Lift from Sephora and I did see an very noticeable difference with my fine lines, but it is sooo expensive! It is just a temporary fix, though, and will wear off. I would highly recommend getting a sample of this!

Sun protection is key, too. I always wear at least SPF 20 on my face and any exposed skin (I don't want my neck and decolletage to age faster than my face) and I use an eye cream with SPF during the day. I swear by Shiseido Sun Protection Eye Cream 32 This stuff is amazing and is slightly different than other sun blocks as it contains both a physical and chemical UVA and UVB blocker. It feels absolutely amazing and is easy to put on. It is not greasy and it doesn't leave a white residue like sunblock can do sometimes. I sometimes need to supplement it with another eye cream underneath for moisturization, but it is amazing stuff!

I also like to check out Makeup Alley to see what everyone is raving (or ranting) about. You can sort by different categories [Treatments (Eye), under Skincare ] and by rating.

Sorry for the length, hope that helps!
