I thought it was about time I put pen to paper (well fingers to keyboard) and wrote a pre -trippie for our imminent trip.

Cast:

Myself
DH
DD - 9 - and yes she does know about this trip. I couldnt keep yet another one secret :rotfl:

This trip we are flying - courtesy of free flights from Air France after the strike chaos last November and are staying at Kyriad Hotel

So plans are:

Setting off from Manchester airport Thursday evening (9th April) - unfortunatly I have to be in work that day due to an event Im involved with and cant finish til 4.00 so it will be a mad dash home, grab the bags and another mad dash to the airport.

Fly to CDG where we are being collected by BS transports and taken into central Paris.

We are staying for 2 nights in Paris at a hotel in Trocadero where I think you get the best views of the Eiffel Tower.

We will spend Friday and Saturday in Paris

Saturday evening we will then get the RER to DLP and book into the Kyriad.

Depending what time we arrive we may go into the park for an hour or so or just wander to the Village or one of the hotels for a cocktail.

We will then spend Sun, Mon and Tuesday in the parks and an hour or so wednesday am before being collected by BS to take us back to CDG for our flight home.

Plans for eating when are at are DLP:

Sunday brunch at Steakhouse - We've never done this before and have kept saying we want to try it

Monday - Agrabah - we did this last summer and really enjoyed it so I hope its as good as there have been a few mixed reviews recently

Tuesday - Rendezvous des Stars - again we've never done this since its been a buffet but people on here have recommended it so i hope its good

All these are at lunchtime so in the evenings we will probably either grab a hot dog from Caseys, a Croque from the Market House Deli or see what else we fancy.

As we are off site we havent got meal vouchers this time so it will be dream AP discount only

Hello everyone from DLP

We have had a busy 2 days in Paris and done loads and eaten some yummy food -

We hit a problem when we arrived on Thursday evening to find the hotel had made a big boo boo and the only room they had left was one which hadnt been cleaned etc- ours had been given away. They had to find us another hotel then get us a taxi to get there so we eventually flopped into bed exhausted at 12.30. They then got us a taxi back to the original hotel the following morning where our room was all ready for us with a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower. We ended up not being charged for the first night.

Friday was spent cruising down the seine on a Batobus, exploring Ile de la Cite and Ile St Louis, Place des Vosges, Centre Pompidou, and wandering round Trocadero and down to the Tower.

Today we have explored round Montmatre and the Sacre Coeur.

We have just checked in to Kyriad and are about to hit the parks soon for a few hours.

I'll try and update this thread as I go along and add photos when I get home

Great to hear a live report from you. Enjoy, enjoy and we'll be bound to see you on Monday.

Oh I do hope you're having a wonderful time!! We miss you (And are very jealous of you!!)...!

Saturday
After checking into the Kyriad and checking in here to say hello of course we headed into the park. By the time we got in it was about 6.30 and the park was due to be open til 10. It was nice to see everyone piling out of the park as we went in.

We wandered down main street and caught the end of the Mickeys birthday show. It seemed Ok but no one was joining in.
We wandered through frontierland to see what the queue was like for BTM but it was still quite long so we went to Adventureland instead to ride POC. Then did SW and Pinochio. By now it was quite wet so we decided to go and grab some food from Chalet des Marionettes.
It was still raining when we finished so we decided rather than get wet (as DH and I didnt have coats with us) we'd just go back to the hotel. We called into the sweet shop to buy some chocolate to curl up with and then just relaxed in the room ready for EMH the next morning.

Easter Sunday - We woke up early for EMH. As usual DD and I couldnt face going in for breakfast so we left DH to go alone.
We reached the park about 8.30 and did all the usual EMH rides before going for a drink at the Cable Car bakeshop.
DH then went for FPs for BTM while DD and I went on Phantom Manor. We then managed to ride BTM 3 times in a row with FPs (normal, old APs, and Ebay FPs). It was POC next which was very busy- we were queuing right through the caves but at least the line was moving.

We have just been to the Steakhouse brunch - it was our first time doing this and it was yummy food. We saw Pluto, Mickey, Goofy and Tigger and they all came to our table. After champagne and wine we are now feeling rather sleepy so have returned to the hotel for a snooze/rest before going back into the Studios to watch Stars and their Cars.
