So we are 25 days away from BLT, my birthday celebrations and MNSSHP. We are anxious this morning, we are pre-packing things! Anyone else get the anxious jitters doing this? I am wondering do I pack laptop in Mickey laptop bag, and use the DVC bag as my carry ons, or, do I pack everything into my backpack laptop bag that has room for other things. Last trip, we drove, so it was no biggie. Normally, on our return trip, we pack all the pins, and any other breakable items into the DVC tote and carry it on. So, there might be a need for both bags instead of just one...ARRRGGGHHH :scared1::scared1:

I think it will be mickey laptop bag and DVC carry on. Both Southwest and Delta allow a personal carry on and carry on so we are good...

lol...That happens to me every year. I think its just excitement and anticipation. If I forget something, its not like I won't be able to get it there. At a premium of course but its no big deal. I think I just try to ultra organize things so I don't have to miss one minute of fun!

Have a fantastic trip! I still have 40 or more days to go but I am getting in the zone and the suitcase will come flying out soon, I'm sure!

we hear ya....we are heading to our "Home Resort BLT" (OCT 20th/MNSSHP on the 21st) for the first time, and getting excited & anxiuos. pre-packing is done....we are waiting to pack everything else, because from BLT going to DCL on the Magic, so don't want to pack suits/ect...right now.
as far as laptop. I bring a rollon laptop carrier, whic is small enough to be concidered as a personal bag, plus I still have a carry on...
Have a GREAT B~DAY!!!:woohoo:

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

I usually get them, but honestly not until the day before. I usually dont sleep well the night before, just everything running through my head hoping we have everything. It's all the buildup and excitement - the jitters are a good thing!!!

I never pack until the day before. The week before I start gathering up non-perishables that I want to take and launder clothes I want to pack. Besides that, I "try" to forget about it until it finally arrives. I'm exactly 5 weeks away(35 days)...ugh! :surfweb:

Oh I totally understand!!! I leave in 14 days and I'm in the same boat. I even have my bag "lightly" packed!! I wish I could be like Cee and wait until the night before but I can't!!!!! :rotfl:

Oh I completely understand! We are 39 days out and I want to start packing so badly! The only reason that I won't is because my youngest two children have no concept if time and they will get all excited thinking we leave today. I really can't listen to the question.. Mommy, is today the day? for another 39 days straight!!
Actually, the question wouldn't bother me as much as the disappointment on their faces when I tell them not yet!

Heather and I get this way too. She has a list we go by that seems to have helped quell some of these worries tho. Shawnpirate:

cpdwiz I just saw your sig what was the 2007 grand prize?

We haven't started packing yet, because the kids don't know we are going-still a surprise.

We told the kids-dad is going to get done with the farming early this year. He still will have some vacation time left. Can you think of anything you would like to do? They came up with we could go to a movie together. We replied maybe something bigger. So they countered with maybe we could go out to eat together before the movie?:rotfl:

We are 21 days out and I so want to get the suitcases out and start packing....but that would just invite my cats to lounge on my clean clothes! :lmao: We tend to wait until the week before we go....and I have a list for the week to make sure we don't forget anything. This time DH will be working out of town until the day we head out, so I will have to pack for him too! :scared1: We are very ready to head out....and my sister and her family are going with us and are ready to get packing too! :woohoo:

There were 3 awared, and the prize was an all expensed paid, 220 point contract at SSR for 47 years. Thats right, a FULLY PAID DVC Membership!!

That made me laugh..thanks! :rotfl:

That's exactly what mine are doing as we speak!!

I dragged out one suitcase a few weeks ago so I could make sure it would hold all 150 diapers (2 kids under 30months!) and all the wipes to go with them. Plus, snacks etc. It won't take me long to get DH's and mine done. the kids are pretty much done too but they just have small carry-on ones.

I already have a list of stuff left to do and the dates next to it of when I will do it....I am still working on DS's MNSSHP costume!! :scared1: I know what you mean about the jitters...I will feel overwhelmed until we land in Orlando. DH works 3 jobs so he isn't around to help..another reason I get super anxious around this time. But I keep trying to see the end result!!:banana:

we leave in 17 days ... getting very anxious. I still need to gather last minute items for halloween costumes for MNSSHP (first-timers). I have some rubbermaid bins that I've been stocking away all our non-perishable essentials and tolietries, and miscellaneous packing items. We will also pack a suitcase full of breakfast items, and I have to shop for those. I can't even think about packing clothes until 3-4 days beforehand, but I have very detailed packing lists so the actual packing should be easy (yay, right ... :rotfl:). Just so excited and so anxious .... WOOT, WOOT!!!

We leave in 13 days. I feel like I am packing for a football team. I have to pack for me and one son and our trip to WDW. I am packing for two nights on the road and auto-train and then WDW. One bag for each of us and a shared on the road bag. Then I have to pack for DH and other son who will follow by plane. But I have to leave a list for DH to make sure he brings certain things with them that I cannot bring ahead of time. Meanwhile I have to make sure I have enough supplies on hand for dogs, cats, horses and chickens. This along with explicit instructions for the pet sitter on who gets what and how. But of course it is September and school started and after school activities and open houses and the cars all need yearly registration and inspections and my car needs a check up before the drive and the hay guy got all weird this year and I am suddenly hauling hay every weekend to make sure I have enough until next summer.......Yep pre trip stress :rotfl:

16 days to my Yak Attack :thumbsup2

But just think; in 13 days you can say..."ahhhhh...I'm on my way to WDW". :thumbsup2 See you there...I leave in 13 days also!!

23 days and the jitters are even more profound, however, I think they are happy ones! Just got my Sorcerer Mickey shirt from Disney Shopping for our Halloween party, car is set, tickets set, everything set, just simple packing. Thank goodness for Jess, she got all our toiletries and thats one less worry! We cannot wait for this trip we need a vacation!!

I love all your stories, esp surprising the kids about going! Awesome!

I should have ordered this shirt I want from Disney Shopping before hand but never got around to it. Hope I can find it when I get there.

So you probably can. It came quickly, less than a week by mail order. Its pretty neat, and its a Hanes preshrunk, so its good quality

3 days left for me and I'm jittery! I've got myself packed, but since it is just DH and myself going, I'm more frantic getting the house together and the kids schedule written down for my in-laws, who god love them, are watching our kids for 5 days so we can go down alone for DH's 40 birthday. I sent my mother the schedule for the kids, which is very detailed per her request. After looking it over, I called her and told her we owe her big time - Too many games and practices. They're such good sports and are happy to do this for us. Just going to go and start putting toiletries in travel size containers. Can't believe it's almost here!:goodvibes

I used to start packing weeks ahead but honestly getting our Owners Locker helped eliminate a LOT of the stress & futzing & worry. I just love that thing!! I started using packing cubes & packing folders so I have set limits for how much I bring & now all I do is set aside a pile of clothes for each of us the week before (often in the spare room). Then once I get a decent weather forecast I start ironing & packing it. And I don't even worry so much about the ironing any more 'cuz I know I have some Downey Wrinkle Release in the Owners Locker. I no longer have to worry about all the little stuff though because all that is in the Owners Locker. Extra backpacks, sunscreens, OTC meds, toiletries, ponchos, lanyards, spray fans etc - all there waiting for us.

We have our own standard operating procedures for what we carry on the plane. DS has a backpack (which he takes only 1/2 full going down to leave room for some stuff on the way home), DH his laptop bag & I bring the DVC tote (with my purse & DSLR in it, leaving room for a couple of small purchases). Those all fit under the seat in front of us. We have 3 carry-ons bags that fit in the overhead bins & once those are full that's it. I have learned to pack in carry-ons now & I LOVE it!! I use the space compression bags for our dirty laundry which frees up a little space in the carry-ons for the trip home. In a pinch we COULD expand 2 of them by 2" if we needed to. But with each trip we find we buy less & less souvies & junk.

We still get EXCITED  but I don't STRESS over it any more!! I know everything I need is already in FLA waiting for us!!
