I think with only 156 sleeps to go it's time to start my pre-trip report. It's also time because class starts in just under 30 minutes, and I am ahead on my reading, assignments and everything else, and I'm over it.

So here is the deal so far....

30 November: Take the 13+ hour flight all the way to LA. We're staying in Loews Hollywood that night. I picked up a Club Room for under US$200, prepaid to the hotel, including tax before the backside fell out of the dollar. Includes breakfast. 1 night only, but worth it to recover. Even after flying in E+ seats like we did last time we really need the time to recover.

Sunday: Pick up the car from the hotel. Prepaid as well to Hertz, just a little over AU$600 for something about the size of a Camry for two weeks. Including all those compulsary insurances that you need to pay because you're not from the USA. Quite happy with the price. Same car with Avis was just over $1000, and likewise with a few other places. Where i work has sometype of deal with Hertz, wasn't expecting that good thought!!!!

Drive to our Vacation Rental in the Hollywood Hills where we will stay for the week. During this time we will also pick up some groceries, and the stuff you must have for the week.

DD has asked for Pop Tarts (the USA type ones.) I haven't had the heart to tell her that you can get them from the convenience store at my work :thumbsup2 otherwise she would be requesting them more often!!!

We're staying for a week. No plans yet. DH wants to see the space shuttle at the California Science Museum, DD would like to go back to American Girl for lunch which DH wants to sit out, and I would like to do nothing other than sleep as Minnie the Wonderdog won't be waking us at 5am every day. :goodvibes

Fast forward a week and we drive down to Anaheim where I've arranged a Vacation Rental in the units just behind the DL car park. I'm going to get the 10 day Australian tickets.

DD is disapointed that she can't dress like a Princess anymore, but at nearly 11 and she is developing early unfortunatley, she won't get away with it. She is almost the same height as some of the women I work with. I did tell her though she can get her hair done fancy etc.

The plan is to do one character meal only, that may blow out. Who knows.

I would like to go to Medievil times this time around, I went when I was 17 with may family. I'm sure DD will love it. Cemented by she went with her Nan and Pop to Cavalia yesterday and she had a wonderful time.

Following Sunday, fly home. And I have the rest of December off work! Yay me.

And that is the total plan thus far. It is the most relaxed I have been about planning any trip, even ones to visit family!

I can't wait.

Great trip, Kylie. And you did well with the hotel prices and car hire. Hertz seems to be providing rather competitive pricing lately. They used to be one of the more expensive ones.

:thumbsup2 great plan I  the idea of a more relaxed trip hoping for one of them myself :)

Your plans look great! My DD is also too big to fit into any of the princess dresses but wouldn't miss a trip to BBB to have her hair & make up done. To DD, it's all about being treated like a princess.
