{I'm not usually a poster on these boards, more of a lurker, but I have to start this by saying that I love the trip reports posted on here. zzub, happyhaunt, delswife, and everyone else that I missed (i know there's tons) do such a good job with them. I'll try to live up to them as best I can. :) }

Let's Start With the Cast!

Me: 16, busy busy busy! Member of Mock Trial, FBLA, Drama, Forensics, and the school newspaper. Went to Disney once at the age of 7, fell in love with Figment and Spaceship Earth (along with everything else, of course!)...the rest is history. Cries during Finding Nemo.

DM *mother*: Perpetually '29', in reality 40something. Many trips to WDW, last being in 97. Wouldn't mind being a part of Captain Jack's crew. Tried all summer to plan trip, but my activities got in the way of everything.

(Sorry Disney, but my Mock Trial coach would sue me if I missed competition!)

DF *father*: 40something, Disney addict. Last trip 1997. Enjoys turning on our stereo full blast and watching The Lion King. Raises hand when planning videos ask if there's any golfers in the family.

DB *brother*: 9, first trip to Disney. Already wore out POTC DVD, excited for ride until he found out it closed. Now is in process of wearing out Star Wars DVDs. Has Captain Jack Sparrow poster in room that I strongly suspect DM bought for herself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our story itself starts on January 17, 2006. My sweet sixteen. The day consisted of Finals at school and Mock Trial practice. I arrived home to a lovely birthday poem from DB that ended:
"Go on, have your birthday, see if I care
All that I'll say is that you better beware
I've got some tricks up my sleeve that I'm willing to use
go on, turn 16 you stupid old moose."
Enchanting, isn't he?
Later that evening I opened presents! :woohoo:
Hmm...tank tops and skirts. Strange. It's the middle of January in Wisconsin! Not exactly the most practical wear. Suspicion began to set in as the last package was brought before me.
A Tinkerbell bag.
With big pink sunglasses attached to it.
And a big fuzzy magic wand.
Before I open it, says DM, you have to promise to share it with DB. Fine. I can do that, says I.
I opened it to see a guidebook to Disney World! The precious moment was caught on tape as I looked at it, screamed, dropped the book in excitement, and got a papercut. Oops.
The details came out: starting March 19th, we would spend my week off of school at WDW! POR, to be exact.
Almost three months later, the ADRs are made, the shopping has ended, and the waiting-with-nothing-to-do stage has begun. Now that the crisis with Northwest Airlines has been adverted, even that has been pushed off our worry list. Thanks for putting up with this so far and hopefully there'll be a trip report to follow!!!
