I'm hoping the wonderful people of the Dis can help with some suggestions. My Kindergartener came up with an idea to have a pre-trip celebration of our Disney Trip. I actually thought it was a cute idea but I can't come up with any creative ideas. This is what I have so far:
  • Make snack mix for flight (pretzels, chex, m&m's, etc)
  • Make Disney-themed snack bags (snack mix from above, Disney gummies, Disney lollipops, applesauce, etc)
  • Set up the table with autograph books, mickey ears, Disney pins, & lanyard that I've already acquired
  • Have a special treat for them to eat at the celebration (cupcake or cookie of some sort)
What other activity could we do? DS is 6 and DD is 3.5. Any suggestions?

Many thanks, in advance!

What about giving them a Disney backpack or small suitcase and let them start packing? Maybe some basics like sunscreen, new travel toothbrush, etc. They can decide what snugglies need to go on the trip.

Amazon has lots of Disney-related games...simple matching games the Disney version of Chutes and Ladders.

You could include a game that both kids could play at your party. I think the party is a fun idea! If I can get my grandkids all in the same town before our trip I think I will do the same thing!

We do some pretty elaborate countdowns over here lol. The ones that my DD says were her favorites were the themed movie nights we did leading up to our trips. Here are some of the ideas that I've gathered from various sources:

Lion King- stuffed animal safari around the house, gummy worms in chocolate pudding with crushed oreos on top for worms in the dirt dessert.
Frozen- put down a plastic tarp and go ice skating in socks, eat some chocolate of course.
Dumbo- put on a circus- jump rope on the floor to walk on for the tight rope, put some red, yellow, and orange crepe paper on a hula hoop and make a ring of fire to jump through, eat hot dogs and popcorn.
Lady and the Tramp- red checkered table cloth and candlelight spaghetti dinner, let the kids pretend to be dogs while they eat their spaghetti with no forks.
Finding Nemo- Tie pink balloons with white streamers coming off the ceiling so they can "swim through the jellyfish." velveeta mac and cheese "seashells" for dinner.

That's what I remember off the top of my head. I have a whole list somewhere which I'll hunt down if you are interested in more ideas, just quote this message and I'll see it.
