Okay, I have a story that only a Dis'er will understand.

I found a cute idea on the internet about hiding mickey related countdown annoucements for the special people in your life that are traveling to Disney with you! So, since I don't have kids... my DH got the honor of receiving a "hidden" Mickey related note each day for the past week.
For example:
At 7 days prior to trip, I made three circles out of scrapbooking paper and stuck letters on it that said "Only 7 Days to Mickey!!!" This one I had placed in his sock drawer for him to find when he was getting ready in the morning.

Then for 6 days prior to trip, I made a sign on the computer with Mickey clip art and pasted the words "6 days" all over it, this one I placed in the medicine cabinet.
and so on.....
Well, today we are now at three days! Woo Hoo!
I hid the three day note in his truck the last night. It was so cute because as he was leaving the house today he looked a little disappointed and asked, "Where is my mouse?". I just replied, "I don't know, with a smile on my face" and then he found in when he got in his truck.

I know, I may be just a LITTLE to excited for our trip!! :Pinkbounc haha... Do ya think? But anyways, it is really a kind of fun way to keep the anticipation of the trip going and build on the excitement. I think kids would really love something like this... my DH got a kick out of it, and he is in his 30's!

That sounds so cute! I'm more excited than my girls are so I'm going to do that for my girls at our 7 day mark to get them pumped up....20 days and counting!

Great Idea!!!!! My husband will love it!!! Not to get off the subject to much, but I remember when we first got married & the first year we went to Disney together (I had been a ton of times, but hubby hadn't been in 15yrs). Then they were offering one extra, per person. (included either pleasure Island, round of golf, or character breakfast). Since I do all the planning I picked the breakfast. Before we left he found out that he could've picked golf he was like "I could have gotten in a round of golf for 4 hrs, and instead I'm eating with a mouse?" Once we did the breakfast he was so happy with it, we never go to Disney without booking one. :wizard:

I do love the hidden mickeys, thanks for the idea :Pinkbounc

I am so glad to hear that about your DH liking the character breakfast so much! I was wanting to do something like that (maybe Chef Mickeys) but didn't want my DH to think I was a nut since we don't have kids. That is so good to hear that he liked it so much he would even give up golfing and want to go do it again the next time!!!! Hmmm maybe I will just have to call and see if any reservation times maybe have popped up!!

Also, to gracey712, I was a little disappointed at about 30 days before our trip why my DH didn't seem as excited as I was... hoping he would have a good time there. Well, now we are 2 days away from the date and he has been acting like a little kid before the first day of school. He is bouncing off the walls! :bounce: I love it!!!!

I think you will really start to see the excitement in your girls at about 1 week before. My friend and her DS and DD are coming on trip with us and she said she gave her 3 yr old DS a guidebook of Disney (Official guide to Disney I think) and it has lots of pictures to look at and he already has all of the rides planned out!

It is just my husband & I. We have done plenty of character meals, but our favorite is Chef Mickeys. We ask for the main dining room (More to look at).

It seems as if the ratio of characters to guests are much better at Chef Mickeys than others.

Enjoy!! When are you going? We'll be there Sept 25- Oct. 1 :earsgirl:

I will have to give Chef Mickeys a call to see what they have! Thanks for the info.

We will be there 9/18 for three nights, can't wait!

Have a great time!! I hear September/October is a perfect time to go.

What a great idea.We are coming to WDW in Feb 2006 but have told our 6 year old daughter that we,re not coming until 2007.She will find out on Xmas morning that Mickey has put the vacation forward a year.I think a few hidden Mickeys and some Tinker bell dust might just add to the excitement.

Geordie -your daughter will flip when she finds that out! That is a very neat idea. A Mickey stocking would be a cute... ::MickeyMo and of course, filled with all things Disney! You'll definitly have to pull out the camcorder for that Xmas!

I have one more day to wait and its feeling like a year.

I borrowej jenlo's idea for the pre-trip hidden mickeys and started yesterday with my three girls. Well of course my oldest knew it was from me, but my 7-yr old twins thought tinkerbell really left this in the school folders!! They were like "yea, she has the pixie dust so she can do anything" I was so thrilled, so were they. This morning I hid them in their change purses for their lunch money. Wonder what their reaction will be today when they come home? Between the hidden mickeys and our fairy godmailer...they really believe in magical things. Thanks you guys!
