Do you go through "phases" of pre-trip emotions? I sure do.

First phase, I'm giddy with excitement at booking my trip. That lasts a while.

Next phase - Planning mania.

Next phase - Starting to get bored with it all. Horrors!

Next phase - Back to excited.

Next phase - Getting close, but getting bored again.

Last phase - Days before leaving - out of control excitement.

I'm at the second last phase right now - I've pretty much hit the wall. I'm trying to shake it, and I know I will, I just hate when it happens! ;)

Is there an official "get me there already" phase? That's what I'm usually like when I'm on the plane/in the car and Disney bound.

LOL have fun!

I think you could probably stick that phase in between all the other phases. So it would go something like this...

First phase, I'm giddy with excitement at booking my trip. That lasts a while.

Next phase - Get me there already!

Next phase - Planning mania.

Next phase - Get me there already!

Next phase - Starting to get bored with it all. Horrors!

Next phase - Getting close, but getting bored again.

Next phase - Get me there already!

Last phase - Days before leaving - out of control excitement.

On the way to WDW - GET ME THERE ALREADY!!!

At least that's how I feel! :teeth:

I usually hit this fear wall. "what if..." "what about..." "Oh no!...." Then I'm afraid to go. I know that sounds silly.

Yes, that's another type of wall you can hit. :)

Mine is more of a "Disenchanted" wall. Like I have no emotion at all about the whole thing. That disturbs me, but I've learned I get over it eventually and get back to "normal" and freak out with excitement. ;)

I go through an overdose period where I get kinda fed up with planning. I just drop it for a while and then sew up loose ends a few days before we leave. With 30+ trips under our belts we can approach our next trip with more calm than most first-timers.:earsboy:

I'm at the first, getting bored stage, but no horror. I've booked the 2 rooms, made the ADR's and made what days will be spent at which parks. Still working on a rough draft of where to be in the parks at certain times. Since I changed an ADR, I have to totally re-do an entire day, and I just can't get that excited about it. :confused3

I'm at about 150 days and I've just passed though the "Planning Mania" phase. I can't say that I'm in a "Bored With It phase", just having a little withdrawal from the planning excitement. :eeyore:

I tend to get sooo excited before my trip by the time I have been there two days I get all worn out and my emotions are all over the place, I am trying to stay calm this time round so I dont go barmy when I get there!

We leave the day after tomorrow and I think I'm in the denial phase. I spent all week trying not to freak out at work and tell everyone in the office about my trip and now I'm just kind of mellow. I suspect any minute it's going to sink in and I'm going to go nuts!

What about the I'm paralysed phase intertwined with the manic phase? You know, when you are just a few days out and your thinking turns fuzzy.

This is when the lists you made in the beginning and the piles of stuff you have stocked up on come in handy. :thumbsup2

With just 6 days to go that is where I am now, certain I will forget something at home like my AP passes or all my reservations numbers or my gasp, oh no, MOUSE EARS!!!! :lmao:

I said I was mellow, but maybe I'm really in the paralyzed phase too!

I've been in planning mania for about two, maybe more like three, months now, and next weekend I'll book my ADR's, and purchase my MVMCP tickets. Then I'll get into a bored there's-nothing-else-to-plan phase all summer, (which I'm sure will seem endless,) before it's Oct, and then I can purchase my DDE, which'll get me back in my excited I-can't-wait-to-go-to-Disney mood, and be, not just hitting the walls, jumping off of them, by the time it's finally December.

Yep, I get that too. I've got another phase that happens every single time. About one month out something will happen that has me thinking we might not even get to go. I call it the "Save the trip!" phase.

I can identify with you...we're going in Dec., too, and, through planning, planning, planning, decided to go for an A.P. Now, we're going to take advantage of the A.P. rates and go in July b/c we couldn't wait until Dec.!!!

Two weeks from today I will be in WDW for the first time with my kids. I am excited...I am trying to be relaxed and not "rush" to the day we leave. I keep on saying the sooner we leave means the sooner it will be over. I have taken out the suitcases (actually discovered my carryon bag is missing - no panic just went and bought a new one) Now I am into lists - making sure I have thought of everything. I can't imagine how I will be the week before we leave.

that ws us last year but you do realize that once you go your never the same its like a drug......as soon as you get back youll be trying to figure out how to go again......and trying too hard to recapture the magic of your first trip like i am now...ha ha

I am getting to the end of the first "getting bored" stage. It has been about a month of whatever after getting all of the essentials out of the way. Soon enough I will get back into it.

I am so glad that I found these boards. I'm not the only crazy one. I think I just passed that Excited but bored phase, the next to the last one. Didn't even read these boards that much this week. But now I am getting nervous again. We are going July 4th and now I am really starting to freak out about the crowds. When I first booked this trip back in April, my first, I was keeping myself awake for two weeks thinking about it. Oh, the emotional rollercoater! :woohoo: :scared1:  :cheer2: :scared: :goodvibes
