Pre-Trip, Disney in August...am I nuts?!? - Trip Report!!

Congratulations on the A! Screw the minus lol. An A is an A!

Plans sound great! Have you ever done Where's the Fire? at Innoventions? So much fun!

I kind of cringed at the thought of our early flight, and I'm such a weirdo about flights that I'll want to get there as early as possible! I can already say that I probably won't get much sleep the night before. I mean, do you guys really sleep the night before a Disney trip?! ;)

Normally, we would be on a flight around 6 am but our traveling partners (the family that has never been to WDW) didn't want to leave that early. They just don't get it! :rotfl2:

Your Day 2 plans look awesome!! :goodvibes You'll have to let me know your favorite snacks--since Baby will probably have you trying everything! ;)

Your plans sound great:thumbsup2 I have never eaten at the Garden Grill, but I have been reading really good things about it. I can't wait to see what you think! Hope you are feeling well!

Thanks! I've heard some good reviews about GC, too! I think it was the bisquits that convinced me!

That's how I feel! And at this point, my GPA is pretty much set!
Haven't done Where's the Fire, but it sounds cool! I know J and I will probably spend quite a bit of time in FW!!

Shame, shame. J wasn't too sure about an early flight, but I managed to convince him! He'll understand once we get there! :thumbsup2

Thanks!! Oh I know!! I've got to stay off the Restaurant Board! People keep mentioning their favorite snacks and they all sound soooo good! My eating list is getting out of control! :lmao:

I can't believe we're just over 3 weeks away!! It's sneaking up sooooo fast!! Plus our grad class is keeping us busy. I have my final book review due Thursday then the final paper to look forward to (yuck!). It shouldn't be as bad as the other since I actually find this subject interesting (American Civil Rights Movement). Anyway, onto our plans for Day 3! Again, if anyone has ANY tips I would love to hear 'em!
On Tuesday the only park we plan to visit is Typhoon Lagoon! I want to get there when it opens (9:00am I think), so this will kind of be a sleep-in day! The main attractions I know of are the Wave Pool and Shark Reef (my two favorites from my last trip!). I figure there might be a few slide rides I could do with the rafts and such (like Gang Plank Falls or maybe even Mayday Falls). But I'll probably have to skip out on the intense rides like Humunga Kowabunga! J can do all that by himself! I will manage to try those little donuts I've heard so much about!! YUM!!
So we'll hang out at TL until it gets too hot/crowded, then go back to the hotel for a rest and shower. For dinner that night we're scheduled for O'hana at 8:55! I'm really excited about this since we might get a good shot of Wishes! Plus the food sound great!
Again, this day is planned as more of a milder day (hopefully!). And I know I'd better have my appetite ready for O'hana! Can't wait for that bread pudding!!!
:hyper:

Amanda--I have never been to TL, but I am going to post about Ohana on my TR tonight. We had a GREAT experience and all decided it was a vacation tradition. I did request a table in front of the pit/grill and got it. I have to say that if I was on the other side away from the grill, I dont know that I would have had such a wonderful experience. Our table had a view of the castle and when Wishes started, they played the music for the restaurant to hear. It was amazing:cloud9: And the food and service was incredible. In other words, great pic:)

hi, we are so gutted, we had early morning flight booked bout our
airline has just changed the time due to "operational reasons", yeah right.

we now told leave uk till 4.30pm, meaning we wont get to sanford
till 8.30pm and thats if we leave on time....PANTS:laundy: LOL

will get to disney just in time for bed :guilty:

9 days left at work
14 days to go:dance3:

TL is great! Most of the raft rides there are slower (minus Crush n Gusher) than BB so I don't think you'll have to skip much!

Wow, only 3 weeks to go! Your trip is going to be here before you know it. :thumbsup2 Plans look great!

I read your post about O'hana (still gotta catch up on the rest of your TR but am loving it so far!!). I'll probably call ahead to request a table in front of the pit like you (and keep my fingers crossed for it!). It sounded wonderful and I can't wait!! :cloud9:

OH!!! That's so frustrating!! :headache: But at least you'll get there to get up at the crack of dawn the next day and hopefully beat the morning rush! It's coming fast!! :woohoo:

We're so excited about TL! I joked with J know that I'm prego I'd like to go rest on a beach somewhere, so this will do, ha! Plus I'd heard about BB having more intense rides so maybe next time...

I can't believe it!!! Guess I should get the luggage out of the attic, eh?

Can you believe our trip starts 3 weeks from today?!?!!! Hopefully we'll be in Orlando at this time on our way to the Greatest Place on Earth!! :woohoo:
So this is our day at Animal Kingdom! I've never been to this park and am really excited about it! :dance3: Again, if anyone has any tips/suggestions we would greatly appreciate it!
EMH, so park opens at 8:00am and we're heading straight for Kilimanjaro Safari! I've heard such great things about this ride, especially early in the morning.
Then we can head over to the Pangani Forest Exploration.
We have breakfast scheduled with Donald & Company at Tusker House around 9:30, so I'm not sure if we could get much in before (if so, I'll send J over for a FP on Expedition Everst, ha!).
After breakfast we'll head over to Asia for EE (poor J has to ride alone :guilty: ) then maybe go to the Maharajah Jungle Trek and maybe see Flights of Wonder (heard it's a great show).
And I'll make a point to stop off at the Anandapur Tea Company for a chai (heard great things and chai lattes are my FAVORITE!!).
Dinosaur will probably be another ride for J only :sad2: but I want him to have fun! And I want to see how many other shows we can get in like Finding Nemo, Lion King, and It's a Bug's Life. Then maybe just wonder around the rest the day til we get tired.
Our afternoon/evening plans are up in the air. If we're up for it, we might go to Downtown Disney and do some shopping. If we're tired, we'll hang out at the hotel and order a pizza. Just a nice relaxing evening!
So let me know what you guys think since we're clueless about AK!
:thumbsup2

You're picking the right attraction in AK to do first! That ride is best in the early morning because it's cooler and there are more animals around. DEFINITELY do It's Tough To Be a Bug...unless you have a phobia of bugs. It's a little creepy (kids FREAK during it) but it's a lot of fun! Both of the shows are great: Lion King is my favorite movie. The only thing with Finding Nemo is that you'd need to get there early to get an ok seat. We showed up 10-15 min before show time and were all the way at the top. Not a bad seat but a lot of stairs! And just walk around and take everything in. AK is a beautiful park and there is a lot to see. Make sure you take a close look at the tree!

Let me know how Tusker House is! We have that booked too! :)

Your plans sound great!! I'm sure you've probably thought of this, but I'll share just in case... J can use both of your tickets to get two fast passes...that way, if he really liked the ride, he can jump right on again! :thumbsup2 I LOVE AK! It's just so pretty. And for some reason it seems more like a break than the other parks.

Thanks for the tips! Again, AK is totally new to us so we have no idea where or what we're doing. I heard It's Tough to be a Bug is great!! Especially with the stink-bug!
I'll be sure to post reviews of the dining (which will probably be my favorite part!).

Thanks!! We'll probably do the double-FP for all the rides he can go on without me, just incase he really likes it! :thumbsup2

So this will be our last full day at Disney  Our plan is to spend the whole day Epcot, without a break...if possible!!
First thing, go to Soarin'! Ride it and maybe get a FP (never been on it, so have to decide if we want to do it again, which we probably will, hehe!).
Then hike over to Test Track. I figure this is another one I probably can't do, so J can have a go. Then maybe he can give Mission:Space a try (I don't think I would want to do that one even if I wasn't pregnant! )
After that I wanted to check out Spaceship Earth and whatever else we can of Future World we didn't get in the few days before.
We then have lunch ressies at Le Cellier around 12:30 :woohoo: I totally plan on getting the soup, a steak, and one of their fab desserts!!
Once lunch is over we're set to meet up with some Dis folks to do a sugar crawl through World Showcase!! Plus do a little shopping and such through the countries! ;) I think this will be fun! I love me some desserts and I'm so stoked to meet some Dissers!!!
Once the day starts to come to an end I'm hoping we can finish the day/week with a nice view of Illuminations. I've heard there are some decent spots around WS, but hopefully we won't have to wait for 2 hours!
So that's the plan for Epcot! Suggestions are always welcome!!
:grouphug:

Just caught up on your last two posts! As far as the AK day goes, looks like everything is perfect to me! We had to do the Safari during the afternoon and I was so aggravated b/c I tried to tell everyone we needed to do it 1st. Morning would have been way better! Also, the EE fastpass is a must during the Summer. I LOVE tea as well and just found some info about the tea place. Totally plan on hitting that up next time:love: Can't wait for you to post about it! Also, WISHED we would have made it to NEMO but Lion King was great!:goodvibes You will love it. Can't wait for you to post about Le'Cellier also, another must on my next trip. Great planning so far!! So excited your trip is so close :cheer2:

Soarin is SO laid back and relaxing. You probably are going to want to do it again! Make sure you get a fastpass. That line gets out of control sometimes and the fastpasses go quickly. You're going to be there so soon!

PS: Finishing my AK day post tonight...had some good tips for AK. Be looking for it!:goodvibes

I know! I've heard so much about Safari being really good in the morning, but also heard others had a great experience in the evening around feeding time! Guess it's luck of the draw, so hopefully we'll have some good pics. And yours were great!! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to try out Soarin!! I've heard so many cool things about it! Keep your fingers crossed that we'll get a front row seat, heehee!

I can't believe we'll be at Disney this time next week!! It's just sooooo crazy!!! J still needs to get the luggage out of the attic. I know, we're bad! This is the first time I've waited this long to pack for a trip...EVER!! We're still trying to finish up our papers for the graduate course (my last one!) plus get ready for a garage sale my mom is having on Saturday. Hey, maybe we'll get a little extra spending $$! ;)
I still need to buy a few things for the trip, including:
visor (a cute one, but not sure where since places like Target have converted to Fall stuff already)
over-the-door organizer (I'm hoping we may use it after we get back since we'll have a little one on the way!)
mole-skin (I'm hoping no one will get a blister, but just wanna be ready)
pop-up hamper (still not sure about this one...anybody buy one and really glad they had, or wish they hadn't?)
Other than that, I think we've got everything we need. Just gotta put it in the suitcase! Plus I finally got my camera back from my mom and need to practice with it BIG-time before we go! I haven't really touched it since last Fall, so wish me luck in being a fast learner (or re-learner)!
Oh yeah, plans for our last day in Disney (which I don't want to even think about right now!) are going to be:
- Breakfast at Crystal Palace around 8:00am (I am so excited about getting into the park before everyone else! Should make for some great shots of the Castle!)
- Once we're done eating, I'm hoping to hit any rides we missed from Day 1, maybe BTMR, Peter Pan's Flight, etc. Basically whatever big rides J wants to do.
- Then of course do some shopping!! If we're lucky enough we may try to head to DTD for some yummy goodies for the road, but if not, no biggie.
- And then we'll have to head back to our resort for the dreaded ride to the airport, boo! :sad1:
So, I won't think about that stuff now since we have a week to get ready and get set for our fun trip at Disney!!
If anyone has any last-minute suggestions for our trip (park plans, packing tips, etc), I would love to hear them! I'll try and post once more before we leave, at least to say that we're off!! Can't wait!!:dance3:
