Here is a question I have been seeking to find an answer to regarding upcoming special events at the Magic Kingdom this fall.

Historically, for special events beginning at night, Disney has permitted those with special event tickets to enter the Magic Kingdom beginning at 4pm on the date of the event. Now, if the special event ticket is linked to My Disney Experience and there is a resort reservation and other theme park ticket reservations, the system appears to allow Fastpass+ reservations to be made and subsequently moved to work within the 4-7 timeframe (4, 5 and 6).

My question involves whether the special event ticket will actually be able to utilize Fastpass+ reservations made during the 4-7 time frame. This scenario is one in which no other theme park would be attended on the date of the special event - simply attending Magic Kingdom beginning at 4. Has anyone tried this at a special event?

Further, if utilizing Magic Bands, how will the ticketing system recognize that the correct ticket to use is the special event ticket and not the full day base ticket? Is it better to utilize the plastic park ticket for the special event?

As an FYI - I have special event tickets and base tickets linked to MDE & I have been able to make Fastpass+ for all days of my resort reservation (more than what I have available in linked base tickets). I also have plastic park tickets for the same tickets that are linked to Magic Bands.

I have tried calling Disney and (not surprisingly) the person I spoke with said that there is no Fastpass+ during special events, so you cannot make Fastpass+ reservations. I tried asking about the period prior to the event starting, but the person I spoke with had no answer.

Thank you in advance for any insight!

1. Have Guest Relations set the arty ticket to the highest "Priority" just before you use your MB to enter the Party.

-or-

2. Yes, that will guarantee that the correct ticket is used for the party.

3. Phone CM's have very little info (some say none) regarding park operations.

As to whether the FP+ you make for 4 to 7pm actually will work...
I'd say there's a better than 50% chance that they will.

I have bought the Villain Unleash event ticket. And that is my only ticket on MDE. And it also allows me to book any FP for HS on any day that is opened up for me. The system only treated that ticket as a valid park ticket that always you to access HS (in my case, for you it might be MK).

So literally you are allow to book any day available for you. The system does not check validity on it. But of course when you take the special event ticket and try to enter the park on any day. The CM nor the turnstile will allow you to do so.

Thus, drawing to conclusion is that you are allow to book any FP and the system will not validate it. The only things is whether you are able to use your booked one with the limited entry on your ticket.

The CM that answered your call is also correct. Since the event starts at 7pm which from then all the rides has no FP booking slot. Your FP is 4pm-7pm which the park is still open for the general public. You could take advantage of the early park entry to use up the pre-booked FP before the event officially starts at 7pm. I booked mine from 4pm-7pm as well although my ticket only allows me to get in at 5pm to HS on 23rd Aug. So I am hoping the grace period for my first FP is not over when I reach Star Tours.
