We are going in December. I would like to purchase our park tickets now, either through Disney or somewhere else. I see they mail the tickets to you if you would like. My question is, can I get the tickets put on my magic bands or do we have to carry tickets around all week. I also heard it is different for DVC members. I am new to DVC so any help would be appreciated.

ONce you receive the tickets or a will call number from Disney if you don't have them shipped, you can link the tickets to the magic bands through mydisneyexperience.com

You can buy tickets now, they don't start until first use. Ticket prices are rumored to be increasing next month so buying now is an added bonus.

If you get a will call number and link to MDE, do you need to get the actual hard ticket before entering the park for the first time or will the magic bands that the tickets are linked to automatically work? TIA

I have a related question. I am thinking of buying my tickets now in order to avoid a price increase, but I have not yet decided on my airline tickets. Since I don't know what times I'll be arriving/leaving, I may or may not want to go to the parks on those days. How difficult would it be for me to reduce the days of the tickets later on? Alternatively, if I were to purchase fewer days than what I think I need, and add some days later, I assume those extra days would come at the newly increased price. Is this so?

You can't reduce the number of days on separately purchased park admission.

Upgrades (which includes adding days) would be a current gate prices.

Drat...that's what I thought. Oh well.

As for adding days, if you purchase discounted tickets from an authorized re-seller like Undercover Tourist you can upgrade and still keep the discount.

Price Bridging is a Disney policy which allows Guests to keep a discount when they upgrade a ticket by adding days or options or going to any Annual Pass. There are specific rules related to which tickets may or may not be price bridged.

The basic concept is that an eligible ticket, once it has been used for a Park entry, will have a two step procedure. The first is to bring the price of the ticket to the current Gate price. The second step is to take the updated ticket and do the upgrade, with the Guest making payment of the upgrade cost only.

I would not get too hung up on this unless it is like a two day ticket.

Once you get the the 3 day ticket, a 4th day is only 20$. After 4 it is only 10$ a day.

Not that you want to waste money, but for me, its worth 10$ even if I only go to the park for an hour...or simply knowing that I can go to the park for an hour.

Thank you. I have my annual pass linked to My Disney Experience. How do I get the discount card associated with the annual pass? If my parents buy regular park tickets from AAA, can they be linked to their magic bands.

Go to guest services. They will give you the AP card which you need to show for discounts. You need to stop there anyways before you enter the park for the first time for them to activate your AP.

I purchased AAA tickets at their discounted price and linked the tickets to my magicbands on the mydisneyexperience.com website for our trip last October.

If you order your tickets online from Disney, you will be asked to link them to an individual on your MDE account. Once this is done, they will be linked to your MBs when you get them. Unless you want the actual ticket or voucher for some reason this is the best way to purchase tickets through Disney.

Tickets are not put onto MBs, they are linked through your MDE account.

Others have already discussed upgrading to additional days. Once you are over 4 days its only 10 dollars extra a day. For me if we are going 6 or 7 days I will usually go for the extra day, even if it means just using it on the night of our arrival or morning of our departure.
