pre-purchase commemorative pin?

For all my previous Disney races (Princess, W&D, EEC) I've pre-purchased the commemorative pin in advance, but I'm pretty sure I always see tons of pins still available for sale at the packet pick-up/expo.

Lately I've been trying to avoid the extra active.com processing fees as much as possible so I'm thinking about not pre-ordering the pin for Tinkerbell and just waiting until I get there. I'd rather not give the extra money to active.com, even if it's only 80 cents. But on the other hand, it is only 80 cents and I don't want miss out in case they do happen to sell out this time.

What do you think?

I tried to purchase a commemorative pin at the 2011 Princess Expo, first day, two hours after the expo opened. They were sold out.

You aren't going to the crazy busy races - try doing that with the Disneyland Half, or WDW Marathon Weekend and you won't be so lucky. For the record, I have only seen pins for sale at the Princess in 2010. I didn't see any for sale for the Wine & Dine a couple weeks ago so you must have gone when the Expo opened. I am certain that they won't have any of the Tinkerbell pins or necklaces available at the Expo. I don't know if pins aren't your thing, it isn't a big deal if you don't get one but if they are, why risk it. I don't like the Active.com fees either but they are what they are and I like all my results being in one place.

I pre orderded 2 pins(as I do for all races) and never see them at the expo but did see the same pins at the Wine and Dine Expo. Rule of thumb, if you want it pre order or show up at the expo when it opens. I have seen too many posts where "I wish I bought it..." but sold out. Never worth a dollar when you are dealing with all the money you spend at Disney!

Hmmm, maybe it's just EEC where I've seen pins available since being a smaller event it doesn't sell out so quickly. It's been awhile so the races are starting to blur together in my memory. I'll pre-order just to be safe. Thanks for the advice.
