We have ressie from Sat-Sat at OKW in Sept. Family of 5. We would like to travel to WDW on Friday and anticipate arrival late afternoon @ 5:00. What recommendations for where to stay for the friday before checkin? the 2br at OKW is too $$$.

What is considered early checkin at OKW for Sat? What do we do prior to check in ? Can we put our name on a list early am and then park hop? other suggestions?

What about saturday check out and where to stay?

There are some good rates at the FW cabins right now for @ $140 but I don't know if the hassle of packing/unpacking is worth it?

Thanks.

I have been allowed into my room at OKW as early as 8:30 in the morning.

We usually spend a night at one of the Moderate resorts. We love Riverside and also have done Coronado Springs. These are really affordable with codes. The kids get to try out a different pool and we have a nice dinner. We only "half unpack."

Some of the Downtown Disney resorts also have good rates.

We never worry about the room being ready. We register, drop our luggage with bell services, and head out. Later in the day we call to see if the room has been assigned and get the number.

For your first night: When we have gotten in real late, we have stayed at/near the airport just so we could get some rest. Otherwise go with any on property resort that you want to try and is within your price range. There are some great deals available at certain times, particularly with Swan and Dolphin.

We are planning 1 night at okw, then 1 night at akl before settling in for 5 nights at bw. We are planning to pack a backpack with just what we need for the first two nights and leave the rest of the luggage in the trunk until bw. You pack one suitcase with everything you need the first night, so you shouldn't have to get into the rest and repacking next day.

You can sleep 6 at the Doubletree Guest Suites at DTD. You might be able to get a room for less than $99. When you get up on Sat morning, have one of the family members run over to OKW and check you in. You never know, your room might be ready. We stayed at AKL recently, then 6 nights at BCV. I ran over to BCV on Sunday morning about 7:30/8AM and a room was ready. I drove back to AKL, got the Sleeping Beauties out of bed and we checked out of AKL.

We've stayed in one of the moderates when we had too large a group to stay in a studio for one night. Coronado Springs is fine, as is Port Orleans (and Port Orleans is also close to our home resort, OKW).

Can any of the moderates accomodate 5 or 6 at a reasonable $? If so, which ones would you recommend and are close to OKW?
