Pre-Paid Character Meal Vouchers

Has anyone ordered/used the prepaid character meal vouchers for DLR and did they save you any money? Specifically, for the Paradise Pier Hotel, Plaza Inn and Goofy's Kitchen.

If so, where did you order them from? I've seen them on Orbitz (USD). I'd need 4 adult tickets (seeing as a 12 year old is classed as an adult by Disney ).

I'm only interested if they genuinely save diners money, otherwise I'll just pay for the meals directly when we get there. The DLR website it pretty useless when it comes to providing actual prices so it's hard to ascertain whether the vouchers are worth it or not.

Unless you are looking at going during peak holiday period (when the character dining is the most expensive) then you won't save money on the pre-paid. Most of the pre-paid dining does not include tip or tax, so you will have to pay that at the table.

That said, I have my pre-paid dining for the two breakfasts my family are doing at the end of Dec.

I decided against them for the exact reason that I couldn't work out if they were a good deal or not. It was just going to be a pain to order etc, so we just paid direct.

If you buy them from Disney you normally save a few dollars if you head to Goofy's Kitchen for dinner and maybe Ariel's for lunch but otherwise I don't think you save anything. I'm not sure how Orbitz and other prices work out though.

Hi, we used pre-paid character meal vouchers for surfs up, and it does include the tip,I contacted Disney dinning regarding this when I made our booking.
