I remember reading a post about at check in they make a imprint of your credit card, and that is fine. But will they accept cash, traveler's checks to add a credit upfront for the start of our cruise??
You can go ahead and pre-pay your ship account ..... just go to guest services on the port side of the ship which is the same deck that you board and they'll gladly take your cash/traveler's checks to pre-pay the account....you can also settle your account the last night of your cruise via cash/travelers checks if you don't want the rather large bill slid under your door the morning you leave......Andy
I think they charge to your card every $400 or so during the cruise. But we had several travelers checks and cash we knew we wouldn't spend so on a day or 2 before the last day, we went down and applied all that we wanted to our account and left a credit balance to help with the newer stuff. You can put cash down at anytime to avoid your credit card from being hit so hard. I would not suggest the very end of your cruise because it can get really busy down there.
I also don't recommend going too early after arrival to Guest services to put down cash etc.
I waited till the second evening when I noticed there was no line. I just kept the disney dollars etc in the safe until then. Don't stand in line at Guest Services unless you have to - there are too many other good things to do

Your debit card will work and not to worry about the daily limit. Since charges come through as "charges" and not debits, your card will accept any amount up to the balance in your checking account. We also pre-paid our account since we had hundreds of Disney Dollars that we had saved. It was great not having to worry about a large amount being charged on our card once we left the ship.
