We are sailing on NCL's 8 night Mexican cruise January 3rd of next year. I need a hotel recommendation for two in San Pedro for the night prior. Also, we are flying into LAX and need to secure transportation to hotel/port. Any suggestions? We plan to spend two nights at Disney post cruise and will have to find transportation port to Disney vicinity (and I do not want to rent a car).

Thank you,
Dawn

Don't stay in San Pedro. Long Beach is probably the best option for you and its much nicer. There's a bunch of hotels near PCH/Pine Ave. and there is a lot of restaurants within walking distance. If you arrive early enough you might be able to swing by the Aquarium of the Pacific if you're into that. You could arrange for a taxi cab to take you to the Port of LA the next day and its really not that far- its just off PCH.

You might want to look at SuperShuttle for your transportation from LAX to the hotel you are going to stay at. There are a couple in San Pedro that you might want to consider, if you're just going to rest before your cruise. Right across the street from the terminal is a Best Western Comfort Inn. Within walking distance from that property is an Acapulco Restaurant, where you can enjoy a bite to eat. If we're enjoying one of our warm winter days, you can sit out on the patio & watch the boats go by in the LA Harbor. A couple of blocks away from the BW Comfort Inn is a Sheraton.

If you would rather stay in a hotel where there is more activity going on, you might consider Long Beach. However, you'll need to get a taxi to go from Long Beach, over the Vincent Thomas Bridge to the cruise ship terminal. :)

I agree with staying in Long Beach, but I might stay downtown, rather than PCH. There is a really nice Hyatt at 200 S. Pine, walking distance to the aquarium with a great view of the water and Queen Mary, a movie theater and restaurants. I book my visiting relatives here. There is also a lovely Hilton and Ramada Renaissance on Ocean Blvd. You can get to San Pedro by just driving westbound on Ocean, over the bridge, so a taxi should be simple. Supershuttle or any of the airport shuttles will get you to Long Beach or the cruise ship. Sorry I can't help with the transport from the cruise to Disney. I know there are buses that go there, but I've never actually seen where they pick up passengers other than the airport.

Have a great cruise :)

Thanks so much everyone- Long Beach it is. We will probably fly in late morning and hope to tour the Queen Mary/spend time by the water (I grew up on the East Coast and often feel landlocked here in Colorado) etc...

Enjoy the holiday weekend,
Dawn
