I'll be the first to admit that I never ask for prayers. Tonight is a very different thing.
Tonight, I found out that one of the students at my high school, Morgan, lost her battle with ovarian cancer. She was 17.
Morgan fought as hard as she could, but the cancer was just too advanced for any medicine to stop as the cancer was diagnosed very late in the game.
Over Christmas she got sick, flu-like. After she was unable to eat for four days, her parents took her to the doctor. What they found was something that no one could have expected. She had a massive tumor in her belly.
Within 24 hours, she was in the operating room to remove the monster that had overtaken her body. It was 22 lbs.
After the surgery, the doctors determined that it was ovarian cancer and she had another surgery to remove her ovaries, in hopes of getting ALL of the cancer.
A couple rounds of chemo and two more surgeries, she fell very weak last week.
Morgan was raised into the arms of Heaven late tonight.
The whole school has been walking with her, helping her fight, every step of the way.
It is going to be a very hard week for all of our kids. So if you've stuck with me this far, and are of the praying type (doesn't matter who you pray to), please keep Morgan, her family, her friends, and her peers in your thoughts.
Morgan was an effervescent spirit who brought a smile to any person's face that she met. Her light will live on in all who she touched.

. I can't imagine the heartache, grief, and shock, involved for all
. My heart and prayers are certainly with her family, friends and entire school body, to be granted faith, strength, and courage, through these difficlut days - a time when so many may be asking, why Morgan? May your wonderful memories warm your hearts, as sweet Morgan rest in peace with her creator.
