Prayers, please...(Update, p. 4)

Cookie I'm so so sorry! I certainly hope that its to early to make that grave a decision and your dad proves all the Drs. wrong. Prayers and positive thoughts for your dad and your entire family.

Gail- My thoughts and prayers are w/ you and your family. If there is anything at all I can do, please let me know. I have a good ear for listening , ya know. Please give my "little brothers" a hug for me 'cause I know how hard it can be when your grandparents are ill.

{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} for all of you.

I'm so sorry to hear that......prayers have been said for both of your parents & for your entire family:hug:

How scary, Cookie. Just said a prayer that the doctors are wrong.

I'm so sorry, Gail!! Saying many prayers for your family and especially your Dad.:(

I'm sorry to hear this... my prayers are with him and you all.

Gail, please know that you are in my prayers. My dad had suffered two strokes and with lots of OT and PT he is driving again at 78 yrs old-not much but back and forth to the store. Please don't give up the faith. And please know I'll say a prayer for your mom about the guilt. She is not in control-God is.

My Mom had a stroke last year and was paralized on one side of her body. She spent one month in hospital and one month in rehab hospital until Medicare benifits ended. Then she went home with 5 days of outpatient ...then 3,,,then none. She walks , with assistance, with a walker and has made lots of progress. I hope your docors are wrong, and he makes some recovery. ((hugs))

I don't normally ask for prayers, but my family can use all you can spare.

Tuesday my father went in for surgery to clear blocked arteries to prevent another stroke. I spent the day at the hospital with my mother, even though she said it was routine, and I shouldn't have taken the day off from work.

Instead of preventing the stroke, the surgery actually brought one on. My father now is completely paralyzed on his right side, and has not been able to speak.

My mother is beside herself, since she's the one who convinced him to have this surgery...now she's spending her 2nd night alone since they were married over 50 years ago.

Her doctor has informed her today that his opinion is that he will not be recovering, and that she should look into nursing home options.

I'm at a loss. :( Any suggestions, thoughts, and especially prayers are most appreciated.

I just wanted to tell you that they gave my grandpa the same outlook back in January 1994. He did recover. Not fully to where he was, but he is able to use his body. He did go in a nursing home after my grandma died in 95, but it was unrelated.

Prayers being sent right now..

i'm so sorry gail...you and your family will be in my thoughts...hang in there
