Prayers and hugs!

Love the picture of your dad and Newley (and Pluto!) and the story of finding out that a fellow DISer trained him.![]()

Gosh, it's been ages since we had a Houston area DIS meet that I know of anyway. Last one I remember was at Kemah Boardwalk at the Aquarium (4 or 5 years ago maybe???). Rajah (Tammi) use to organize those. I haven't seen her around for awhile but then I don't really frequent the DIS as much as I use to (except for the LOLcatz threadHey, we need to pull together some sort of DIS meet down here pretty soon... it has been years since there has been one! Unless I somehow missed one. I think I'll try and talk Dad and Newley into going to the next one.![]()
). Would love to meet your dad and Newley. This might sounds very strange but...has your dad been tested for Lyme Disease? I ask because my BIL started having tingling numbness on one side, they thought he was having a heart attack. Initial tests were negative, they sent him home, continued testing and were finding nothing wrong. The numbness/tingling continued and then spread to his tongue. When it got worse at work one day they took him to the ER...and there someone realized to look for Lyme and when they checked his body they found the bulls-eye. It seemed so odd to me, but that's what it was.
In any case, I hope they find out what's wrong with him soon and he will stay in my prayers...![]()

Hey, Gina! Bumping this up for an update. How's your dad?
I keep meaning to update this, but have been in the midst of finals. I don't have any huge updates, as it is. Dad went to the cardiologist last week, and then again Monday. They decided the Plavix wasn't going to be agressive enough, so they put him on Coumadin. Reading drug warning labels is scary enough, but the anecdotal stories are worse. From what I've heard, you can get into a dire situation from something like a paper cut. They told him to "be careful shaving" -- Hello, it's a blind man shaving! He cuts himself all the time! So needless to say, we're a bit worried about that. BUT, if it prevents a major stroke, then that's obviously a good thing.
