If you're inclined to pray for inanimate objects
wouldja toss one up for my A/C unit? This is a baaaaddd time for my A/C to go out.
We had our heating/AC guy come out about 4 days ago and put in a doo-hickey which got the unit going again. Today it seems to have died and the indoor temp is 85 degrees. It is hot and humid in Georgia. DH is really suffering with it (He has severe lung disease and the ozone level is in the unsafe range.) The A/C guy is coming in the morning and we can get through the night with fans and wet washcloths. But he intimated last time that our 18yr old A/C was on its last legs.
If he can't resurrect it we are in deep doo-doo. I'm on medical leave with no end in sight and DH is on disability. We can probably afford to buy a couple of window units to get us through. It never really gets cool on summer nights in GA. We can cook on the grill and eat fruit, drink ice tea, and nosh on popsicles. We can go to the pool to cool off.
Ack. We do not need this.
