Hi...some of you know that my dad is sick. He has been having shortness of breath for a while now and some congestion in his chest but last Sunday took the cake. We had to rush him to the ER last Sunday night (during the snowstorm) for the shortness of breath and there he did, infact, stop breathing on my mother for a few seconds. Come to find out he has pneumonia in both lungs and they had to put a ventillator in (not because he couldn't breathe on his own but to regulate his breathing). They also thought he might have congestive heart failure but all his EKG's are coming back fine. He was on the vent till Friday and in ICU but they took it out and he just has the oxygen in his nose. He is doing really well now. Even his doctors can't believe how well he is doing since he was so sick when we brought him in (via ambulance).
I just ask that you continue to keep him in your prayers. He is a tough old bird and his spirits continue to be up and he looks good. One doctor tells us he doesn't forsee him coming home till New Year's. The other says a few days. He is so weak, that I don't see him home for Christmas but he is where he needs to be. We had to get to the bottom of it. The weakness is from laying in the bed for 5 days and not walking or eating. He has been eating regular foor for 2 days now and for all he has been through ~ eating good.
On a side note, his oncologist said his last blood test revealed the myeloma is getting better. Yea!
I appreciate it if you would say a prayer. Thanks!
