I keep children in my home and one of the infants played with some rat poison over the weekend. -
Grandparents had put out the poison in the drawer under the stove. The baby found it and put it in her mouth. They called poison control and all seemed ok - found her quickly. They did look up the kind of poison and it causes internal bleeding.
Well this morning they awoke to blood in her bowels. She may have GI bleeding. They have taken her to the hospital. Please pray for her. Her name is Zoe and she is 11 months old. Thank you!!
After a long day of waiting - our prayers were heard and answered! Zoe went through a lot of test yesterday. After MANY doctors examed her bowel movement, they concluded that it was NOT GI bleeding. (One note - her grandmother is a nurse and was very confident that it was, hense all the testing she went through, grandmother wanted to be sure it wasn't). The only conclusion that the doctors came to was the antibotics that she started taking last Friday was turning her bowel movements RED.
They changed her antibotics and are going to watch her a couple of days. But how scary! Of course grandmother feels awful about the whole sititution and on top of all the heart ache yesterday, she received lecture after lecture about being careful with poisons. Of course she is really thankful that it is not serious. Thank you for all your prayers! God does listen!
