Grrr...this weekend was a rough one. First off either yesterday or today my grandmother fell and broke her wrist. She is in TN and we are in OH so we have to rely on her sisters to call if anything happens. My parents are preparing for her to come live with them soon becuase she also has Parkinsons and Alzheimers. Any way she refused to call 911 so finally one of her sisters drove her over to the Dr. He couldn't do anything for her becuase the break is so bad. She has to go to a specialist and can't get in until Tuesday afternoon. (Becuase of her illness she is also yelling that everyone is trying to poison her. This makes treating her not so easy.) My parents are leaving either Wed. or Thurs. to go down there on an already planned trip. Please pray this all works out. They may have to take her car away and bring her back here even though their house isn't ready for her yet. (They are going to sell their current home and buy a new one that will accomodate her better.)
Now to me. Yesterday was not my best day. As I was finishing my shower I slipped. I hit the side of my leg just above the knee. (Of course as I was falling I started to grab the shower liner to stop me, but then remembered it is brand new so I didn't want to pull it down:rolleyes: ) It still really hurts. Nick had baseball hitting/pitching training again yesterday and I was going to catch for him. However since I could barely walk his dad had to. (Nick was much happier having dad anyway I think) So anyway for 2 days I haven't been able to do any real exercise becuase my leg hurts so bad:( Hopefully by morning I will feel better and can workout a little.;)

Sweetie- when it rains it pours! I will send prayers up today to give your parents strength and wisdom as they try and workout the particulars with your Grandma, it's horrible for everyone when Alzheimer's plays a part not to mention Parkinson's.
And your knee! OUCH! I would give it a few days and take some anti-inflammatories- they really help push along the healing phase. Just don't take too many- aleve works for me- I just take 2 a day for 2 days and it seems to move things along. It's these little bumps in the road that make us take notice of all we take for granted on a daily basis...here's to a quick recovery and no more rainstorms! :)

I am so sorry to hear all of this. You've got a bucket load of pixie dust heading your way and a great big !

Prayers for you and your family. Alzheimers is never easy to deal with.

Don't worry about working out below the waist. You can do some upper body exercises that can make you feel better and allow your leg to heal! Don't worry about it, though. It's better to let that leg rest because the body works overtime to heal a boo boo if you let it!

God bless,

Robinrs

Sending prayers and PD your way for your grandmother and entire family. I hope that you are feeling better today too.

Sorry to hear...pixie dust on its way!! Hugs to you!

I'll keep your Grandma and the rest of your family in my prayers. Take it easy on that leg - no need to push things too far, too fast - sounds like you should be resting it instead of working out. I second the idea of anti-inflammatory meds like Aleve or Motrin.

Sending you and family loads of pixie dust. I hope you all have quick recoveries.

Sending prayers and pixie dust for you all. Make sure you rest your leg ... it is not worth it to do more damage. A few days of rest is what you need right now.

Thank you everyone:) My parents are leaving for Tn early to see what all is going on. I am blessed in still having 3 grandparents still living (I'm 35) however it appears that all 3 are declining in health very rapidly. I think my grandma in TN is declining both physically and mantally very quickly though. I'll know more in a couple days when my parents get there.
As for me...I am feeling better. My leg is still sore but it hasn't bruised.:) I have to be careful not to bump it though becuase that does send waves of pain. :( (yes I'm clumsy and I bumped it getting in the car)I am going to work on my upper body today. Oh and the super news for the day....I checked the scale today and I'm down 4 lbs since Sat. (I know it was all water but it makes me feel better:hyper: ) thank you again for all the prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear this. My grandmother had Alzheimer's, so I know how difficult that can be. I'm sending plenty of prayers and pixie dust for you all. And take care of yourself, too. I hope your knee continues to improve.

Congratulations on your 4 pound loss!! That 5 pound clippie is not far away now!!
