My heart is just breaking for them. I told my DH (a firefighter) about this. It made him very sad. Fire fighters don't like it when people die in a fire. Also, he got up immediately and checked our smoke detectors, I suggest everyone do the same.

This is so terrible.. I posted a reply already in the DCL meets forum, however after reading these links the events that happened back here in March of 2003 are flashing back at me. This is why my neighbours lost their two little ones and grandmother while they were off at work. They also died from smoke caused by a fire. I couldn't even imagine how the family is dealing with this. I know my neighbors took almost a full year to return to their house, however they are finally back now and starting a new family.

What do you say to situations such as these when you really, truly, have no idea what you would do if you were placed in them? I will be checking our smoke detectors tonight when I get home from my office. It's heartbreaking to imagine all of the "is not going to be able to's" in situations such as these.

My wife and I extend our deepest condolences and wish God's support to all of the family members that have suffered by this tragedy.

You know it funny, some of us don't even know these people except for reading their posts, and yet we all feel the sadness like they were our friends or family. I pray for the family and for all who knew them.
