Okay, we are supposed to leave Friday morning...and DH and I spent the morning in the ER. He has his first ever kidney stone. It is about half-way out and is stuck (the urologist looked at the xray and said - I quote - that's not gonna come out). So, tomorrow morning we go have the procedure where they bust the stone up. The doctor said he should be fine to go, assuming this works, which it almost always does.

Anyway, right now we are just hoping it will sit still, because as long as it is lodged, he doesn't hurt much. Wish us pixie dust...PLEASE. Not only do I not want him to hurt, but I want to leave on time!!!!

I'd like to hear his trip report on this subject... I could only imagine what he would come up with!!!

Ugh- lots and lots of pixie dust! I have had 3 kidney stones in my life- first one at age 16. They are NOT fun. After having 2 kids, I think that kidney stones are worse. Mine just usually knock me on my back for a few days and then after that I am usually ok.... so here's hoping that's how it is for him!!

Lots of PD for DH!! That procedure worked really well for a coworker of mine. She didn't really have any down time from it, maybe a day or 2. It pulverizes the stone into dust...well that's how she put it. Peeing in the sieve, now THAT was the part she hated!

Hope DH feels all better and can enjoy the trip!!

pixie dust to him!!!! hope all goes well. i JUST had my 1st one last month and let me tell you it was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! when i had the mri to see where it was the lady doing the mri said, you see how much pain you are in? multiply that by 1000 and that's what a man feels!!!!! wowzer! my reply was "now they know what childbirth is like!!!!"

really good luck to him. hope you have a great trip to the beach. good recovery time for him.

All I can think about is the Seinfeld episode where Kraimer has the stone and it comes out at the circus and he starts screaming and you can hear the screams all over NYC!!!!!!

My BF had them and his doctor said he must have passed them, because they couldn't find them in the second MRI, and by then the pain was pretty much gone anyway.
