a billion years ago when I was younger, my friends and I used to have the best time going to whoever's house that's parents were working and making prank calls:rotfl: We would make dumb prank calls.....just wondering, in this day and age of Caller ID and computer network....have you recieved any crank calls? Not talking about grown-up calls about please pay this or that but nutty kid stuff. I have not in over 25 years. I think we need to re-train our kids:lmao:

Lmao! My friends and I did the same thing and had a ball doing It. The people who got the most annoyed were the funniest, and would get multiple calls from us. I haven't gotten a prank call in years - but I'd probably crack up if I did!

Last week I got a phone call to our home phone. Our number is unlisted and few people have it. Anyways, I answer phone and..
caller says "where am I calling"
me: Who did you want to talk to?
caller: The old lady
me: I'm sorry, you must have wrong number
caller: what, no old ladies live there??

Now, the funny part is.. the caller was actually an old lady calling. She even called me a second time, and again said " can I speak to the old lady".

I have a friend who is in her 30s who STILL loves to make crank calls. She's a nutter, which is why I like her, but I don't understand her love of prank calling.

Oh, and when she makes the calls, she'll make them from a phone with a blocked caller ID.

Ahhh the good old days. A slumber party was not the same unless we could drag the rotary phone with the really long cord into the main room and make prank calls.

My kids don't even know the fine art of prank calling. Caller ID ruined it for their generation:lmao:

:lmao: sounds like my kind of woman:banana: Hey...how you doing you skank????

Used to love making prank calls growing up.

And yes, they are alive and well around here. I've caught my kids and their friends many times. There's a way around caller ID so that the caller's number shows up as private. Kids today are way more savy than we give them credit for when it comes to getting around things like that.

My friends and I still do it- we used to do it a ton in middle school, and in more recent years we've called people we know and messed around. we use *67, and it blocks the number from showing up on caller id. some people won't answer a blocked number, but most of them usually did.

my mom was actually the one who encouraged us to do it in middle school. she supplied us with a whole list of stupid stuff to say to the people who answered the phone. I still laugh thinking about the random things we'd say and the confused answers we'd get :lmao:

I use to do that too, it was so much fun. Sometimes we will call and say we were a radio station and that they won something. How cruel some believe us :lmao:.

You know that there's an APP for that called prankdial (for android phones) .:rotfl2: No kidding. My 13 yo thinks its so funny to call from that app on her cell phone. It will be someones else's voice and it will record the conversation for you to play back. She got DH good this past weekend. :lmao:

The kids just use *67 to block their number too. Leave it to my kids to still do this. :rotfl2:

OMG, between 12 and 16 me and my friends did prank calls all the time. My cousin "borrowed" the student phone list from the school office and we prank called every hot guy on that list. We also used to call up the radio station and irritate the dj, lol.

I have a friend who's kid was making them. Made too many to one number and the people got mad and called the police to have them traced. Had to file a police report. Now her 5 th grader has a police report on him.
Some people suck all the fun out of things!

When I was younger I worked at a bowling alley we would get a couple every week.

"Do you guys have 16 pound balls?"

We would answer, "yes, and we carry them around in a wheelbarrow".

My brother used to call random numbers and just say.

"Manwich makes a good meal.", not sure why he did that.

My DD (now 14) thinks I do :rolleyes1

but its not a prank call if you call the Epcot red phone booths is it? :confused3
