Practical jokes played on your children?

Have you ever played silly practical jokes on your children? When my son was born, his cousins ranged in age from 10-20 something. He couldn't "get big" fast enough, always wanting to be "big" like his cousins.

My son also loved to take baths. Every night as a preschooler he wanted to take a bath and play in the tub for an hour or so. It got kind of old, as my spouse or I would take turns sitting in the bathroom with him.

One night, he was maybe 3 maybe 4, he showed me his wrinkly fingers and asked why they were all wrinkled. I explained to him that whenever he soaks in the tub, he shrinks just a tiny bit. So when he saw his fingers get wrinkled, it was just the skin getting loose. I further explained that if he never took a bath he would be as big as his (over 6 foot tall) male cousins, and that the reason people took baths was so they didn't get so big they couldn't fit in their houses. I also pointed out that the reason his oldest cousin was not as tall as his younger brother, was that the older one took longer baths.

My spouse and myself kept that story going for a good month! We finally confessed, but our son still remembers it 4-5 years later!

But how did you get him to take baths after telling him that story? I'm sure he still took them. (I hope!)

Awww! Yes we actually have.....gosh its long but I'm going to shorten it...He likes to watch the show Brothers Garcia...so I told him that our real last name was supposed to be Garcia too but we had to change it because there were too many Garcias in our family so we changed our name. So I told him his real name was John-Cole Garcia. So he went around telling everyone that....when he found out the truth he hit me I believe

Disney-related practical joke.

We were on JIYI, with my sons in one car, and my friend and I behind them. When we got to the "upside down toilet room" as the boys called it, I decided to spray them with the mister fan while I yelled out "Ewwwww...it got me...did you guys get leaked on, too?"

They believed me, and my friend and I (two grown women, mind you) cackled to ourselves for the rest of the ride.

havent done anything horribly mean to my DS BUT when we were younger i convinced my sister that if you drain the bathtub while you are still in it~ you will go down the drain big toe first. it was sooooo funny. my older sister and i had her convinced for years until our mother found out. LMAO!!!

maybe I shouldn't tell the story about when I convinced him that when he turned 7 years old he would magically (much to his dismay) overnight, while he slept, turn into a GIRL!
