My girls are begging me and dh to dress up with them! And if so what on earth do you wear and buy it from?

from a clueless mother of two princesses!!!

They sure do! I have seen tons of ahem...adult pirates at the P&PP. Dress up and have a ball!

We went to the P&PP on February 2nd and saw alot of adults dressed up. Now, we didn't dress up unless you count my husband wearing an eye patch and a hoop earring and making annoying pirate sounds like "arrrrgh" and "ahoy matey". We saw adults dressed in full princess or pirate outfits (most party stores still have them for sale for adults, check Party City if you have one near you) but, we also saw adults wearing just princess Tiara's or pirate hat's or do-rag and an eye patch(all of which can be purchased in most party stores). Just go and have fun, your little princesses will LOVE it!

My step daughter was dying for me to dress up...and I'm not so much a dress up kinda girl...so I compromised with Snow White's "day wear"...I wore a darling little yellow knit skirt with a red tank top layered under a cobalt blue tank...I wore red flip flops...I had a red ribbon tied around my pony tail! Oh and I had an apple button on the strap of one of my tanks. Subtle little touch, but very effective!!

LOTS of people knew who I was!!! Including Lady Tremaine and the Step sisters!!! It was a lot of fun and a very comfy outfit. I was participating without being overt! NOt that overt is bad...it's just not me. But it was still fun!

and like someone said in another post...lots of adult "princesses" just wear tiaras with princess tees...whatever you want to do is fine!!

Normally there are rules in place about adults dressing as characters...but I don't think that rule applies during P&PP's!!

have fun with it!!!:thumbsup2

We're all dressing up. My husband will be a pirate, I purchased an Elizabeth Swain gown (now I don't look like her at all) and the kids are pirates and Sleeping Beauty. It's not too often you can dress up with your kids and have a great time!

We were there in August and I dressed op. I wore a tank top and long cotton skirt that had some seqiuns on it and a tiara. It was very comfortable, but still looked like I "dressed up".

OK may get a flame or a spark and thats ok! I was looking in some of the threads regarding the PPP and I got a bit shocked! THere were numerous women posting costumes that they were going to wear and my jaw hit the floor. NOt the Elizabeth ones they were lovely!

I am a bit concerned and it may well be for nothing but those that have attended, may I ask...did you see many outfits that may have been better suited for "adult play"??

I don't want to take my son to get eye popping moments in WDW???

Sadly, after seeing those posts I have been leaning away usre call me a prude but sometimes it seems I am more comfortable with that then seeing toooo much of other guests.

I totally know what you mean. Luckily I don't have quite the same issues as you since we have girls but I still don't want my little girls seeing inappropriately dressed people. I wish they would take a moment to stop and remember that they are at disneyworld and not an adult costume party! Unfourtunately now days nobody believes that have to cover anything up. I better leave it at that because I will probably be sharing the flames with you!

When we were there in August there were a couple of "Pirate Wench" costumes that were a bit revealing, but they were the exception, not the norm (and no different than seeing some of the more revealing bathing suits at the pool). I honestly don't think my kids even noticed. There was so much going on and they were in such a rush to see/do everything they could that they really weren't paying attention to the other party goers.

DH and I along with my mom and dad will be going to a P&PP in April 2009 and DH and I both plan to dress up!! DH is going to be a pirate and I'm going to be either Snow White, tinkerbell, or Belle. I'm not sure sure my parents will dress up, but we'll see!!! Even if we look stupid we will have fun doing it!!

I was surprised at how many adults dressed up, it was great! The kids dressed up, my niece was tinkerbell and was thrilled when Peter Pan said "Hi Tink" to her at the parade. I wish I would have been better prepared. The adults in my group wore Pirates of the Caribbean Shirts, eye patches for about 30 sec(thats all we could stand) and bandana's with skulls on them. I would have done more if I would have know that a lot of people go all out. Next time I will!!!!!!!!!!pirate:

Sounds cute!! I'm thinking I want to dress up, and that sounds like a definite maybe so I can still move around, ride and run with the kiddos!!

I totally agree, and I am a younger, not prude parent. I really don't want to see sunburned ::ahems:: popping out of someone's shirt or have my DNiece talking about some girl's wedgie!! :rotfl: We have a local Medieval Faire, and every where you turn, you see some woman's giant scorched chest!! Some of the girls are wearing crazy little fairy outfits with their rear ends sticking out, and my niece actually told one of them she should cover up her wedgie!! :rotfl2: I hope we don't have any incidents like that at the P&P Party.

I had totally forgotten this happened on our trip until I read your thread, thanks for the memory!
We went to the PPP in late January, and a couple (mid to late 20's) were alone and all dressed up: he in a full pirate costume, and she totally decked out in a Tinkerbell outfit (Tink isn't really a princess either, but that's OK, she looked pretty cute!). Well, DS is 2 1/2 years old, and kept trying to jump out of his seat on the bus to get to "Dink! Dink! Dinkerbell!" all the way from POFQ. We finally got off the bus at MK, and the poor little guy took off so hard, running on his stubby little legs to get a good look at "Dink". I was even going to ask her if she could just stop and say hi to him, but they were walking too fast. Once when we were walking I looked down at him, and he wasn't there. I whip around, and there he is, takin off in the other direction, because he finally caught another glimpse of "Dink". I think the pirate was starting to get a little jealous!

DH, DD22, DD19 and I will be dressing up next week. DD19 dressed up last year. There were lots & lots of adults dressed up. It was great and we are looking forward to dressing up ourselves.
