Hi all, we are coming over from Australia in November and staying again at PPH for 12 nights. We are considering purchasing a Microwave when we get there for our hotel room to use to make breakfast and hot chocolates etc.

My questions are would the hotel actually allow us to use our own microwave?
Also for the Aussies out there, is there a USA version of Weet-Bix?

Thanks x

Is Shredded Wheat similar? That is easily found in US supermarkets.
I’d assume a microwave would have to be approved by maintenance in a hotel, have you spoken to the hotel? They may provide one in room, or have one available somewhere for guests. It’s probably regulated by fire codes, especially since we’re talking about california.

I would contact the PPH to ask about the microwave. There might be one on site for guest use or the hotel might be able to provide you with one. Please do not set up your own in the room without consulting the hotel management first. It could be a serious fire hazard. You might look on Amazon.com for Weet-Bix and see if you could have it, along with any other groceries, delivered to you at the PPH. Many people on this board use Vons.com and Amazon.com to have groceries delivered for their DLR trips. People post that they order yogurt, cereal, granola bars/protein bars, instant oatmeal, etc. to have breakfast in the room. Milk, fruit, and basic groceries can also be found at the 24/7 CVS on Katella and Harbor -- probably at the Walgreens across the street from that -- and at the 7-11 and A Mart just north of the CVS on Harbor.

I did see Weetbix available on Amazon but for $28.99 USD. Ouch! I don't know how you feel about the British Weetabix but that's available on Amazon for $10 and even cheaper on Instacart.

I don't know if you are wedded to the Paradise Pier but we stayed in the family suite at the Springhill Suites last week, and it had a microwave and a fridge in the room. My daughter really loved the bunk beds, and they had free breakfast. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the Disneyland entrance on Harbor.

The Surfside Lounge at the Paradise Pier has a microwave on the counter that hotel guests can use on their own.

Premium rooms at the Candy Cane Inn also have microwave and small fridge in the rooms, free breakfast, free parking, private shuttle to the parks, about a 10 minute walk to the esplanade.
