Hi everyone. Newbies to DLR. We are arriving in February and have narrowed our hotel choices down to either the Paradise Pier Hotel or the Sheraton (the one that looks like a castle). The PPH is about $45 more a night for the 4 days we will be there. FYI, I'm a mom traveling with my 2 kids. Any thoughts would be appreciated. TIA

The PPH. You can walk in about 10 minutes to the park, versus relying on a shuttle.

You will get an extra Morning Magic day which will be nice with the short Febuary hours.

Also with short hours your may want to take advantage of a pool with a fun slide for the kids and being close to DTD.

I agree completely

We stayed at PPH in October of 2009 and loved everything about it. It was a short walk to DTD and you can always cut through the Grand Californian to get make the walk a bit shorter or to get into CA. We celebrated my ds 8th birthday while we were there and they went all out with decorations and treats in our room as well as balloons and a card signed by the Mickey and friends. We had a great room with a wonderful view of CA. I would go back in a heart beat!

Thanks for the replies. We are all booked for the PPH. We are super excited.

You made the right choice! The refurb rooms at PPH are very comfy and nice and it is an easy walk when you cut through the Grand.

Have fun.

Plus I have to add that I am MAD at the Sheraton. I had 4 tickets to their "all u can eat" breakfast buffet (others in my party had to leave early) and they would not let me do a single to go pass through the line to eat on the way to the airport. The customer service was not good at all.

We love the PPH. Be sure to request a WOC view upgrade when you arrive (if you don't reserve one for a cost when you book your room).
