They say god does these things for a reason, but it seems hard to tell what this one is! Prayers and Pixiedust.

I would not do the intervention this week. When my mom died everyone decided to do an emotional intervention of sorts on her kids. We were just grieving and during the four days after she passed everybody decided to tell us every single bad thing they thought she did. No one was saying anything positive about her and must have been so scared of her that they decided to unload on us just as soon as she was out of the way! Though this is different, his father is probably in worse shape over losing his child than I was losing my mother, and now is really not a time where he will even listen. A week from now, or as soon as possible, yes, but let him bury his son, in my opinion.

If it is true that God doesn't give us more than we can handle, then these people must be incredibly strong,

Cancer is terrible. A lot of us here on the DIS know from personal experience. Someday we'll have a cure.
