PP Elevators...Really that bad?

Just curious, as I have never stayed at PPH (and haven't stayed at DLH since I was a kid...many, many, MANY years ago!)...

Why is this elevator "issue" only discussed at PPH? What makes it a problem there compared to the other two resort hotels? I ask because we ARE staying at DLH in September, and I'm wondering if there are elevator issues at those towers as well? :confused3

I don't know. I found the elevators much more crowded at the DLH, but never an issue per say.

In all of my PPH stays I'm sure there has been a time or two or three in which I had to wait longer for an elevator than I preferred, and I know that there has been at least one occasion when an elevator stopped and I began to board, only to see that it was full.

But honestly, in the overall scheme of things, when I look back at my PPH stays I forget all about the elevators. Whatever time wasted or whatever inconvenience the elevators caused me is barely memorable, and it was so minor and insignificant that I didn't even think twice about it after my trips.

The only time I have a reason to even try to remember my elevator experiences at the PPH is when someone else asks about or comments on the subject here on The DIS! The elevators were honestly not even a blip on the radar for me.

There are only 3 1/2 elevators at PPH for the whole hotel (I say and 1/2 because, as mentioned, there is one elevator that anyone can go up in but only concierge guests can call to go down). Since the hotel has ~480 rooms I think the elevator:room ratio is a bit higher at PPH? The DLH has 990 rooms spread over the 3 towers, each one having at least one bank of elevators.

What's the staircase situation? We're not going to be lugging strollers or big bags, and both of us are fit enough to go down the stairs, if not back up at the end of a long day!

(Assuming we're not on a ridiculously high floor.)

We use the stairs to go down quite a bit, when we're on the 4-7th floors(anything higher and we take the elevator;)).

It is very convenient, and super quick(especially when one is toward the end of a hallway) to just hit the stairs. Of course, we're not hauling a stroller or small children with us!

We've stayed at the PPH almost 40 times, and the elevator situation(which others have experienced) just has not been an issue for us at all, but we also utilize the stairs when placed on a lower floor!:)
