I expected to wake up and hear that the jackpot would be split at least three ways.

So, friends, there's still a chance. I'll collect my $4 in winnings and buy two tickets for Wednesday for the DISsers.

Out of the 10 series of numbers I had, NOT ONE main number matched. Just the powerball on one sequence. I should get a $100 pity prize for such failure.

(Yeah, yeah, I know it was 10 individual bets, not a 50 out of 69 keno type wager).

Except the cash value would be a mer 700 million or so, and after taxes, probably only around $350-400 million. If it's "only" that much, I'll have to give up the maid in my dreams. LOL


I just can't imagine that much "cash." It's an absurd amount. I could buy my dream home on the beach in Hawaii for, say, $30 million or so, and STILL have 300 million left. Invested in CD's (very conservative investment vehicle), I'd make 3 million a year (1% interest). That is WAY enough money for me to live on, never touching the principle. I seriously do not know how to spend that kind of money without buying frivolous baubles and things without meaning. I guess I'd be giving a lot of it away to charities.

I would be happy with $10, at this point. lol If I won that much money, I would pay off bills, the house, etc. but still have 99% of it left over. I wouldn't know what to do with myself. lol

With a jackpot of $1.3 billion, you can buy every possible combination, guarantee yourself a win, and still come out ahead after taxes if you choose the annuity. Assuming, of course, that you're the only winner.

Maybe they should change the rules, from combinations (order of numbers picked doesn't matter) to permutations (have to match in the exact order chosen). The jackpots would increase exponentially, and might even approach the defense budget.

Not to hard too believe no one hit. If they draw a new set of number every second never repeating, it would take over seven years to get every combination.
