Answer is found in why surge protectors are banned. For the same reason power strip surge protectors have a history of creating house fires. Then on another one I saw that power strips aren't allowed on DCL.
Yes, many people have brought extension cords/surge protectors onboard, even after DCL added them to the prohibited list. Some of them even got them past security. But they are on the list, it's your call as to whether you want to follow DCL's policy or not.I don't disagree with the DCL policy however I have been on a few DCL cruises and have always taken my extension cord with me to power all my devices and never had it confiscated. So will they allow the USB multi charging adapter?
I don't bring a power strip, but on more than one occasion, I have brought on a multi-port USB charger for our family's various and sundry electronic devices. I didn't try to hide it, and have never had a problem.

Yes, I've taken my 5 port USB adapter to Guest Services and had it "approved".
Who do you contact about getting an approved power strip?
