Power Passholders can go in August?

I received an email today that they have lifted the August powerpass blackout dates. Has anyone seen that it was with an email for booking Cabana Bay:

Excellent. I've read that attendance at the parks has been excellent and even surpassing some of the WDW parks this summer. I guess they want to keep that up.

I just upgraded my pass today..... Did not get email.

it's listed for a limited time so maybe next year the blackouts will be back in effect for that time period of august.

Thanks damo, I'm going to try that. I had called guest services earlier in the week to upgrade and told them specifically that I was upgrading because we wanted to go to Studios on 8/1/14. Then I went to guest services on 7/30/14 to pick up the new passes and again told them I upgraded because we were going to Studios early the next morning. No one said anything to me. I went to bed pretty upset last night over spending $200 that I didn't need to.

I was at Universal Guest Services last night, talking to the girl about ticket options. She told me that she just found out that Universal had lifted the ban on the power passes for the month of august (meaning this year) - this was the guest relations agent. (I was inquiring on adding days, she said power pass was an option, I said no its not, its blacked out, she said they just lifted the blackout dates in august).

So yes, power passes can be used right now at Universal, the block has been lifted.

Universal was as busy as I have ever seen it. I am sure the double dipping on hogwarts express will make their theme park stats skyrocket too....
