As many people do, I have a difficult time "going" to friends and asking them to give up their money. However, if they come to me then that is a different story.
Tomorrow I am allowing my family to throw me a birthday party, which they get to do only as I enter new decades, and I turn 50 on March 19th. There will be between 50-75 friends and family wondering the halls and during this time I am going to introduce them to the "Give Kids the World" organization and to the "Power of 10" promotion. I know my friends and when they are introduced to GKTW I know their generosity will shine.
I will let you know the outcome on Saturday night.
This is kind of like the Jerry Lewis home carnivals for Muscular Dystrophy we did back in the 60's/70's, if anyone remembers those fundraisers.
