Ok, lest my crack CMC thinks I don't appreciate her :teeth:

I finally had an opportunity to sit down and try this tool out and I do believe I am going to love it.

I started with about 250 photos and spent some time sorting and cropping. I just laid out 13 pages in about an hour and a half. While I didn't pull papers, etc (I was doing this at school while students took a test so I only brought minimums with me) that won't take long as I made notes I placed in the box along with the layouts.

I'll try to remember to post how long it takes me to actually scrap those pages Sat when I post to the challenge thread.

:teeth:

So glad you like it! It was not that I felt unappreciated, I'm not looking for kudos. I like to help and wanted you (and all) to know that we're here for questions! As my mom informs me "That's your job!" (and I like it!)

I think I may be asking DH to get this for me for Christmas. I really need help organizing my photos. I saw this at the last crop I went to and it looks so helpful. Glad to hear you like it.

I just placed an order and bought one for myself. I figure once I get the hang of it, I can hold some power sort workshops. I can't wait!

Hockeymom - One use and you'll be dying to share! I don't have a great place for workshops yet (needs LOTS of space), but if you do, it's a GREAT workshop.

JennSaint - Your DH may be able to get a free workshop for you with purchase. It's pretty easy to do on your own, though.

::yes:: I agree, I love mine too! Now I can't live without it. It is so easy and convenient to take with you anywhere you think you may have a little extra time.

Enjoy!!

is this the box that the photos go into or is this something different.

I think I want to get the box that holds the photos but I'm not sure what size they hold...etc...and I really don't feel like calling a consultant...I just want the box! lol

Thanks!

I didn't know what this was, so I just checked it out on ebay! :p This looks great and I am so bad at organizing my photos!

Thanks for the heads up on this item! :)

Holycow - I think you're looking for the PowerSort Box for organizing all of your photos. The PowerLayout box is for putting album layouts together. PowerSort is also VERY nice!

I know it can hold up to 5 x 7 as I have some of mine in there. Anything bigger would have to go on the top of the box in the pouch there. Hope that helps!

wtpclc - I don't really have a big workshop either.........yet. I put the leaves in my kitchen table and set up a table or two in my living room which is very small. I'm a new CMC and hoping that with the extra money and income tax time, I can have a workshop set up in my basement!!

Me too hockeymom. I just just my dining room table and if I need to, the kitchen table. Unfortunately I don't have a basement, so I will not have a "scrap place" until the kids grow up and move out!

No dining room, no hope for the basement of a 100+ year old house. We have too many overnight guests to convert teh guest room. It's the kitchen and living room. Some day we might find a way to put a room in the barn, but no water means no toilet.

I love my power layout too! I did 15 pages w/paper, matting etc, everything except letters and tape, in about 3 hours, now I have to mount them and journal - then I can actually get some #s on the November challenge! What I love is the pictures are organized so I can just pull them out, and I did the pl one afternoon when I had a block of time. Now I figure I can finish a page in about 20 minutes or so, and all I need is my tape and letters - so I can do it anywhere and don't need a block of time and all my *stuff* Am I repeating myself? Sorry!! :) I just love it and never thought I would. :teeth: Oh, I and I do mine on the kitchen table, so it needs to be between meals lol.

Follow up -

I had 18 pages in the box when I started scrapping at a crop (these were just cropped photos and a few notes on what I wanted to do with the papers, etc) Granted most of them were fairly simple layouts. But I was able to gather the papers, etc and complete all of those plus another 7 pages on Saturday.

My girlfriend was scrapping with me and when I'd finished my pages she took the dividers to the diningroom table (we were working in the kitchen) and layed out her photos for a day at Disney. Even without the pre cropping of photos, paper selection, etc it really sped things up.

Such a simple idea that really helps in the process.
